Watching videos even when closed is basically the same size as the Fold 6 when opened. The squat form factor and how incredibly thin it is makes it a delight to carry around compared to the bulky fold 6. I got the carbon case for free with my purchase, which is great too. I refused to put a case on my fold 6 as any case I bought made the phone a brick. This still makes the fold 8 slim even with the case on. The only negative I have is the loss of the telephoto camera. I hate the hole punch cut out selfie camera on the inside screen. I've never used a front facing camera with the fold open. It's literally never used. I'd rather do away with that and have the telephoto back.

I jumped from an S25 Ultra because as much as I enjoy large phones, they're not a great fit in any pocket, especially when I'm hiking, and I've been looking to downsize for awhile. The 8 is much sleeker and easy to pocket. It's much thinner when folded than I anticipated, and I'm able to accomplish virtually all of my calling, messaging, etc. while folded. Battery life has been good (not great) but it seems to be getting better. Performance is very smooth and fast. Unfolded, the 8 is an entirely different animal. I use the small tablet form factor for gaming, reading on my Kindle, and streaming + web browsing and multitasking (multi windows) - all are crazy good and very useful. Again, performance is exceptional and the screens are fantastic. I especially love gaming on the 8. The biggest miss for me is the lack of a dedicated tele, but that's far outweighed by the many positives. BTW the pictures are exceptional. Overall an outstanding device that is much, much more than just a great phone. Bravo Samsung!!

Overall, I’m very happy with this phone. The large inner screen feels almost like a small tablet, which makes reading, browsing the web, checking messages and multitasking much more comfortable than on a regular phone. The design is also very practical because it is still compact enough when folded. The only downside I have noticed so far is that when using the front screen, some apps can be a bit slow to respond. Occasionally I have had to close the app and reopen it to make it work properly again. Hopefully this can be improved with future software updates. Apart from that, the phone is excellent and the big screen experience is really impressive.

The size is perfect, it fits into your hand and looks right. Then you open it up and it transforms, pictures, video and books just fit the this screen ratio. The hinge works better than the Fold 7, opening easier and snaps open. The crease I have forgotten about. I didn't notice it on the Fold 7, but the screen is so much better. I never thought the Fold 7 was a slouch but the 8 seems so much more smoother and responsive. One UI 9 has some great improvements and the integration with the AI makes tasks and work flow so much easier.

The flip felt too small and I have been an Ultra girl since the note series. This phone ferls great in my hand. It feels like a mini book or even like a compact mirror. The screen is responsive. Flips through pages quickly. The colors of my videos, pictures and movies look stunning. I think the sound is louder than my S23 Ultra. My daughter complained it was too loud but not for me, lol. I loved having a smaller phone, but I also used it for it's bending capability. I planned on getting the new Z flip 8 but when I saw this model I knew it was for me. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my third foldable phone. I used to own galaxy Z fold 2 and Z fold 5. Both were pretty good but this one feels and is even better. For me the size is perfect, you can use the entire phone with a single hand even when you are using it as tablet mode. I think the technology got pretty much improved for the foldable system, it feels smooth when you fold and unfold the phone. Although the cameras are not the ones as the ultra the photos are very good. Also you can see that the battery lasts longer as the previous foldable phones as well as my galaxy s25 ultra. So Big improvement there too. Definitely my best foldable phone so far.

When opened the screen is amazing! Watching Netflix and YouTube on this is seriously impressive. When I want to play games I open it up and now I have a tablet, it really blew my expectations out of the water. I really like that the finger print reader is in the power button it makes more sense to have it there. This phone is way louder than my s26 was. The compact size of this phone when closed should be the new standard, it just feels more natural. I dont see myself ever going back to a candy bar shaped phone ever again.
I love the new design form, but videos of most social media apps, like Facebook, Instagram, Ticktock, YouTube, etc, are not formatted to fit the screen of this phone, legs and heads are half seen, regardless if it's titled horizontal or vertical. Samsung needs either to make some software adjustments or get in touch with the developers of the above apps so they can make the necessary changes, specially for the new screen format of this phone. Also it can definitely use larger battery., at least 6000 mAh, another important improvement is to get rid of the camera cutoff whole opening, especially in the inner display, it definitely causes problems.

I love being able to use the phone 2 different ways. Closed for when I wanna do something super quick and open for a much better social media scrolling experience. It's also the perfect size especially for someone with small hands. I also play some emulators on my phone and having it closed gives that Gameboy like handheld experience and using it open gives the DS experience. it's very classic with a modern twist. I am very happy with the purchase, I'm just sad that Samsung hasn't done a foldable this size sooner.
Hello Samsung. Just wanted to thank y'all for these new Z FOLDS (8 & 8 ULTRA). Based on what i have seen and felt, if i may make ONLY 2 suggestions. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, Make the z fold 9 with the same hinge as the z fold 8 ultra and give it the same camera 200mp. Other than that, I would have boughten the z fold 8 over the 8 ultra due to its size and functionality. I hope this reaches you well and have high hopes for the passport phone (z fold 8) next year. If you make this work....best bet, I WILL be upgrading to this phone for sure as this is what my wife and I really wanted until we found out the hinge, camera, & also battery life. Thanks.

It's been 3 days and I'm loving all the tweaks and customization available in the new operating system I wish that the phone had different camera placement and included a telephoto lens. I miss the old version of the inner display's selfie camera. A tad intrusive and I don't see any use case. The speaker placement could also be better next iteration because it does not provide stereo sound when in landscape viewing on the inner screen. I wish it was $250 cheaper and I could say it was a good value, but it is a solid device.

The passport type shape is really appealing to me and its been a dream to consume content on. The device is very responsive and I havent had any kind of slowdowns at all, everything is instant and smooth. The battery life is really good too! I like the new si-c battery, it lasts ages and I havent had any issues with it at all- plus it keeps the device sleek and thin. The device itself feels very sturdy, it's well made and I have no concerns of it breaking. The hinge feels very snappy and premium and I havent had any issues with it at all.

The Display is fantastic and extremely clear. The Hinge in the fold is very strong but not to stiff and is easy to open. I have my Battery set to 80 percent but everyday use, it doesn't drop below 50 percent, which is miles better than my S24. This isn't a Flimsy phone, it's quite robust and feels very strong in your hand. Searching through apps, it's really quick and very responsive and you can have multiple pages and apps open at the same time. This is a great upgrade from my S24, glad I got one. You won't be disappointed 😉

You get the best of both worlds – a regular phone on the outside and a tablet inside! When my S23 started slowing down and the battery was dying fast, I knew it was time for a Fold. I knew the Fold 8 was coming out, so I waited and watched prices for both the new one and the Fold 7. After snagging a sweet deal on the Fold 8, it was a no-brainer. This phone is everything I hoped for and more. It's super fast, holds a charge forever, and the inner display crease is barely there – you actually forget you have a tablet that folds in half! Seriously great, no regrets.

I love the fact that the shorter slightly wider aspect ratio fits videos nearly perfectly even when folded. As an engineer myself I appreciate efficiency and the ergonomics combined with the aspect ratio is the best of all worlds. Whether it's scrolling on social media or watching a video it feels right. I've been switching back and forth between my old s24 ultra and this phone and the s24 ultra now feels too long. Definitely not for everyone but the fact that Samsung gives you the option is greatly appreciated. I do not see myself going back to a long slab phone.

It is the ultimate daily driver. I use my phone alot to watch movies, YouTube videos, and for reading. Reading on this phone is so comfortable on both the inner and outer displays. I find that in using the inner display alot more than I did on my previous fold because the new dimensions make it feel so much better in my small hands Also, the phone is just beautiful. The Z Fold 8 is the perfect marriage of the two, and I chose it to replace my everyday use of the Flip. Within the first day, it became clear I wasn't going back to the Flip, which surprised me. I rarely used the cover screen on the Flip, although I had all the tools to do so. With the Fold 8, I use the front screen a lot and don't feel the need to open it every time I use it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I pre ordered the Galaxy fold 8. I used it for around a week. The phone is great and the fold crease has diminished substantially. The screen quality was amazing and I was surprised by how long the battery lasted. I ended up returning it due to being worried of damaging it and being slightly paranoid about it not being dust resistant or having the inner screen get damaged accidentally. I say its almost there because it is "almost there." The phone is great but not having the best cameras is a big fault in a 1800 dollar phone. None the less I'm sure it will be a great phone for most people. The chose the Ultra 26 as a replacement and am more than happy!

Mate, they finally nailed the design. Previous foldables always felt like carrying a heavy, chunky brick, but this thing is crazy light and slim. When it’s shut, the front screen doesn't feel like a skinny remote control anymore—you can actually type properly on it with one hand without hitting the wrong letters every two seconds. Then you open it up, and the inside screen is wider, so YouTube and Netflix don't have massive black bars, and reading web pages just feels right. It looks super slick in person, charges noticeably faster when you're in a rush, and easily slips into normal pockets without dragging your pants down.

My only negative thought is no 200 megapixel main sensor and no telephoto lens, very disappointing on such a high end phone with such a high cost. As you will learn due to the Fold 8's high volume of sales, many people like larger phones but not necessarily folding ones. I suggest Samsung consider making a larger nonfolding phone, similar to the width of the Fold 8's external screen but also taller. Bring back the old Samsung Mega branding or call it the Samsung Titan. Again, their is a large market for larger phones especially in this day and age.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off I chose this phone to replace a Fold 5. I do like this form factor. I mainly use this for day to day browsing, media, and light gaming. For me it was a good upgrade from the 5. But there are some deficiencies. The speakers are a glaring issue for me, they sound significantly worse than the 5. It is really thin and too lightweight. Without a good case that adds weight and grip it is difficult to hold on to. It does have a very snappy processor and apps respond well. Video on the inner display is were this phone shines. Crease is barely noticeable. I would recommend this phone for both new to foldables and returning users.

Although I love these phones, they always seemed to be a little too narrow and a little too tall. I ended up returning the Razr for software alone. One UI is incredible and the Z Fold 8 is like having 3 devices in one. I rarely take photos but it's strange Samsung purposely set up a gen 2 with upgraded cameras. Keep us loyal at the onset! This device is amazingly light, strong, last long, has amazing screens, so easy and fun to use. Finally a phone is fun again! I got so sick and bored of the slabs and remote style. This for. Factor is perfect! Love it. So glad I chose to try this out, keeping it until gen 2.

You cnt the see middle hinge on the display ,the protective screen use to come after a year but with last flip it did not happen .Durability has come a long away. No chipping, bending scratches. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having held onto my S23 Ultra for the last 3 years, I was very tempted by the Z Fold 8 Ultra! However, in the end I opted for the Z Fold 8 because the form factor felt different. I am obsessed with how good this phone is to use just with the external screen and use that easily 80% but possibly 90% of the time. The battery is currently lasting me 2 days which is outstanding for such a small form factor. The foldable screen once opened is then truly something special. The phone is brilliantly responsive between screens and feels seamless. The camera is really only average when trying to zoom, but for normal photos of subjects nearby is perfectly acceptable.

I've wanted a folding phone for a long time, but the crease in the middle and their size put me off. With the Fold 8, that changed. The passport size of the device and titanium inner screen are just amazing! The clarity of both the outer and inner screens are amazing! Video, text and artwork are equally vivid and easy on the eyes. Magazines, graphic novels, and online content fit perfectly into the inner screen. I haven't been this impressed with a phone since the S23 Ultra cameras. I would recommend the Z Fold 8 to anyone wanting an amazing device that is a pleasure to use for pretty any reason.

The phone is the exact size of a Travel passport albeit a few mm thicker. I can hold the phone in my back pocket without it sticking out. I like that I can do most of my tasks using the apps on the cover screen because of the larger size. The rest of the phone features are what Samsung is known for. As for any negatives, I have owned previous Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Fold phones versions and have had cover screen and screen issues. Hopefully Samsung has figured out to avoid the problem in it's 8th version of the phones.

You'll never get this! La-la-la" but it was just too large and heavy. Fast forward to the Fold8, the perfect "happy medium," that "just right" bowl of porridge that I couldn't pass up, and... Wow! I'm glad that I chose to upgrade to the Z Fold8 now. Today, Samsung, I break the cage, "I get this!" and I high-five you. The bigger battery is very nice!

I am very happy with the form factor. I am coming from a Fold 6 which I found to be too narrow when folded. The added width makes it easier for me to type on the keyboard. The shorter height makes it easy to reach the top and bottom of the screen when folded. There is less wasted space when watching videos unfolded. I think my ideal phone would be this form factor with better cameras. I am noticing some third party apps not accommodating the screen resolution properly but assume things will improve over time. The battery so far seems good. It is lasting longer than my Fold 6 probably due to a combination of larger battery size and degradation in my old phone.

The new size and aspect ratio is huge game changer. Swapping from the standard candybar style phone to this was interesting, but we'll worth it. The fact that the whole phone can fit in my hand while closed is one of my favorite things and if I need a larger screen, it's just one fold away. The 4:3 aspect ratio of the inside screen is great for videos and even playing games, especially rhythm games! The battery seems to last pretty much as long as the S26U I traded in, so that's great. Some apps need to be updated by their developers, but overall, most apps operate perfectly on this phone. 10/10 would love to see what else Samsung could improve on this phone.

Fits great in jeans pockets and the right size to do everything on the go right on the cover screen. Fold 8 open 😜 and its like a kindle size device. Super comfortable to hold, genuinely the perfect size for other tasks that require more attention. The display quality is fantastic So far. The battery life is great. I've had it 4 days now and only charged it twice. I can't comment on durabilty just yet as ive not had it long enough but It eems solid. I'm happy I chose to wait on upgrading until this device came out! The experience I've had consuming media on this has been great, where short form videos are the focus on the main screen, and whole TV shows or movies are enjoyable on the large inner screen. One thing I miss between the Z Fold 8 and my old Z Flip 7... flex mode! It was so convenient to prop my phone open to watch something, read a recipe while cooking, etc. I didn't want a big phone like the Z Fold 8 Ultra, so I'm missing out on that key feature.

And I am so glad I did. The form factor is far better, it's lighter, the display is epic, the crease is nearly non-existent, the battery is superb and holding the device in the hand is great. It's easily pocketable and is very snappy to use, very responsive and so far, I cannot say enough great things about it. I had questions about the camera but for standard photography, I really can't complain. I don't use a zoom lens so I don't miss the added camera in the Fold 8 Ultra. Superb all round device!

I chose to be part of the z series family starting with the fold 2. I have always been...ok....with it's tall form factor but secretly admired the shape of the pixel fold. When they announced the fold 8....I knew I had to choose this one. Folds are .ore than just an option, they are a multitask necessity. Best updated, most unique designed mobile that totally shines above all the rest! Samsung Fold 8 is amazing. Fits so snuggly in your hand. Is slim lined and a good light weight. Most impressed in the battery life and easy fit in your purse or pocket size. Photos are sharp, bright and clear. Love the fold out larger screen and amazing apps to use. Can chat to friends on Messenger on one side while scrolling media on the left. Being older and not too techy I've found the Samsung Fold 8 easy to use and navigate. Even my hubby bought one! A foldable phone that is truly usable folded or Not! I'm in the IT industry and use it for writing bpml, and searching for solutions. When i find documentation that I need to read I unfold and rotate and read like its a good book by the fire. Then when I'm off work it's great for social media and keeping up with world events. From multitasking to email to listening to music. Was concerned about the small passport size and fitting in my jean pocket. But it's not a problem. Fits like a charm, no issues. Well done Samsung!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I didnt have a big issue with the narrow nature of the fold7, it wasn't fully ideal to use. Often times I did use the inner screen more. With the fold8, I find myself using both screens evenly. I love consuming social media through the inner screen. My main reason for getting it was the long tablet feel of using the inner screen in portrait form. And it has not disappointed at all. I did worry about apps not working given other reviews, but none of my apps have had any conflicts or issues. The software has definitely prepared to make sure most apps work properly with both screens. 10/10 would recommend. Ps: this would be amazing with a 6000 mAH battery.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a Z fold 6 for 2 years and very happy with the durability however the weight of 239 grams is still on the heavy side and the almost square aspect ratio of the inner screen is not made for media consumption. The best feature is the under camera display which give the z fold 6 an immersion experience. I chose to upgrade to Z fold 8 due to its new aspect ratio format bothe the outer and inner display. It does not have the udc inside camera but I am willing to trade the feature for a more thinner and a lot lighter z fold 8. Also the almost invisible inner screen crease have me sold. Thank you Samsung for making such a fine polished product. Happy to recommend.

A big part is office work on the go including Teams, Outlook and CRM activities. With its new form factor it's easy to run a meeting and then do my email follow ups. Using social media apps are a breeze and the expanded display is vivid and smooth visually. The camera works great and the pictures are are crisp looking even in lower light. I love how the front screen is super useful and can run apps, get notifications without having to open the full phone. So far it's a great phone. The future of mobility is here and it's brought to you by Samsung.
The Fold 8 genuinely feels like the foldable concept fully realized. The outer screen finally works like a normal phone instead of a narrow remote, and unfolding it reveals a gorgeous canvas with a crease that is practically invisible. Multitasking across split screens is effortless, and the cameras finally hold their own against traditional flagship slabs without compromise. My only real wish is for a beefier battery, as powering that massive inner display during heavy workdays drains juice quickly enough that I still find myself hunting for a charger before the evening is over. It remains an absolute powerhouse, but a bit more endurance would make it near perfect.

It's been little over a week since I received Z fold 8 and I have been really impressed with it. The design feels slimmer and more refined, while still giving you the convenience of a phone that opens into a much larger screen. The large inner display is excellent for watching videos, browsing the web, multitasking, and using multiple apps at the same time. The outer screen is also much more comfortable to use for everyday tasks. Overall, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is an impressive upgrade and feels very premium. This is one of the best foldable phones and mini-tablet in one device, it is very expensive but totally worth it.

I love the new shape, the lighter weight, the overall utility, and the displays on this phone. For the first time ever, I actually find myself using the cover screen regularly—something I virtually never did on my old Z Fold 6 because of its narrow, awkward feel. The data transfer and transition process wasn't as seamless as I would have liked, but once that setup bump was out of the way, it became a non-issue. The daily experience with the Z Fold 8 is simply fantastic, and making the switch was 100% worth it.

It's very convenient for carrying in my pocket. The outer screen is a good size with great resolution and good connection. I love the body of the phone. I went with the pistachio and love it. I would love it more if they had offered the Fold 8 in violet shadow. Unfolded, it's perfect for social media and video streaming—no more huge black bars when watching a movie, very thin when unfolded and not heavy. Love the super-fast charge. It is great for me because I do a lot of work on their phone. The issue I have is how fast it heats up. I had 2 app running on both screen and in less than 20 mins it gave me over heating message. I did update the software as advised, but still feel that it still heats up pretty fast. I took off the thin Samsung case to let it cool down too. I have not tried opening 2 apps on screen since the update. It feel a little warm even with just one app running but not as bad. I guess I will see if this will be my one and only fold phones.

But the old Zfold models struggled with certain types of content. I am a big manga reader and the zfold qas great for manga, that said it always had wasted space. When I played games like Pokemon Pocket, it had those ugly black bar letterboxing, reading manga it was there, youtube videos it was horrible and for movies I would honestly not find a significant difference with just using the cover display. I chose the Zfold 8 because for what I use my phone for on the daily, my gaming, reading, content consumption and just generally using my phone has become so much better.

I ordered it during the pre launch and have been really impressed with it overall. It’s a great size and surprisingly light. Some of the native apps don’t open perfectly in the current aspect ratio when the phone is closed, but once you open it up and turn it to portrait, it becomes a long, large scrolling page, which I really like. Honestly, I’m a bit tired of manufacturers constantly changing the cameras. I think they should have left this one alone. Lost the 30x zoom. That sucks Overall, it’s a great phone. The size and weight are excellent, and the functionality is really good. Very happy with it so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the new Fold 8 to try the new size, but I am disappointed by the losses on the camera quality starting around 20ft away. In addition, the half folds (L shape) or tent fold (A Shape), don't seem to work that well. It actually measure up well next to my Fold 3, so I turn it long ways to type better, as the wide screen makes the keyboard too long for me. I also miss the full size of the cover screen. It severely displaced my home screen and spit the icons up weirdly over the other panels. Like the left over icons from panel 1, didn't simply get pushed to panel 2? I want to see if I can switch to the Fold 8 Ultra.

I have got the s25 ultra, its absolutely amazing, honestly I was considering the 17pro max, pixel 10 pro xl, and the s25 ultra for over 3 months, and did lots of comparisons, all were good products, but by far the s25 ultra blows everything out of the water, its the king of all phones.
