SmartThings - Add and Manage Devices
With the ever-growing number of appliances in your home, you need a way to keep up with them all. What if we told you there’s an app to control all your smart appliances, right from your phone? With SmartThings, you can add compatible appliances and manage them on your phone in a snap. And don't worry, SmartThings supports many third-party smart devices.
Screens and settings available may vary depending on your Canadian wireless service provider and your software version.
When you are ready to take control of all your smart devices, just follow the steps below.
Navigate to SmartThings, and then touch ⊕ Add device. If you have your device turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone, it will appear below AVAILABLE DEVICES. To add a device manually, touch ADD DEVICE MANUALLY and then select your device or appliance.
If needed, you can also remove a device. Navigate to SmartThings, and then touch ⊕ Add device. Touch the More Options icon, in the top right corner, and select Edit. Touch the Remove icon next to the desired device. Finally, touch DELETE to confirm.
You've added a whole bunch of devices - now what? You can easily monitor and manage all your connected devices right from the app.
Navigate to SmartThings, and then touch the Devices tab. Here you can view all your registered devices and also monitor and control the status of each device. To operate your device, select the device and use the available settings to perform your desired operations.
Availability of controls may vary depending on the device.
If you are tired of constantly opening the app to check on things, you can view your devices from the Notification panel! Swipe down to open the Notification panel and then touch the different devices' icons to see their status.
