Galaxy smartphones may slow down, freeze or crash for various reasons. The likely culprits are full storage space and outdated software. Here are some tips to try to get your Galaxy smartphone back up to working order.

Note: Screen images and menu items may vary depending on your model and software version.

Freeing up some storage can make your Galaxy smartphone perform better. Remove files and apps that need clearing out by using Device care.

➊ Go to Settings, then tap Battery and device care.

➋ Tap Storage.

➌ Check your storage space and select files and apps that you want to delete. Clear them out from your Galaxy smartphone.

Note: If you don't see a delete/uninstall option, the files/apps are required by the operating system and safe to keep.

Device speed can slow when apps are running in the background. Keep your Galaxy device in optimal running condition with Optimization.

➊ Go to Settings, then tap Battery and device care.

➋ Tap Memory.

➌ Click the Clean now button to free up memory.
