I can’t play some video and audio files stored in my External SD card with my device

Last Update date : Apr 16. 2018

First please check the format of the video or audio files that you saved in external SD card of your device.
The following file formats are generally supported by the relevant applications on your device.

• Music: mp3, m4a, mp4, 3gp, 3ga, wma, ogg, oga, aac, and flac
• Image: bmp, gif, jpg, and png
• Video: 3gp, mp4, avi, wmv, flv, and mkv
• Document: doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, pdf, and txt

Some file formats are not supported depending on the version of the device’s software. Please download Kies from http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/support/kies/ to enable you to check for the latest software updates for your device.

Regarding the external SD card:

Your device accepts memory cards with maximum capacities depending on the memory card manufacturer and type.
Some memory cards may not be compatible with your device.

Some memory cards may not be fully compatible with the device. Using an incompatible card may damage the device or the memory card, or corrupt the data stored in it.

The device supports only the FAT file system for memory cards. When inserting a card formatted in a different file system, the device will ask you to reformat the memory card. Ensure any files you have on the card are “backed up” before proceeding.

Thank you for your feedback!
