Samsung Launches the EHS Mono HT Quiet - A High Temperature, Low Noise Heat Pump, Ideal for Home and Building Renovations.

06 September, 2022, Amsterdam, The Netherlands – Samsung Electronics Air Conditioner Europe B.V. (SEACE) today launches the EHS Mono HT Quiet, a high temperature, low noise heat pump ideal for Europe’s residential renovation market. A durable and stylishly designed heating solution, it combines advanced features and new technologies to achieve hot water temperatures of up to 70 °C[1] for domestic heating purposes, whilst operating at noise levels as low as 35 d(BA)[2], using a 4-step quiet mode. Additionally, this heat pump is capable of reliably providing 100% heating performance* even in extremely cold weather (temperatures as low as -25°C[3]). Installation and maintenance of the unit is also easy and hassle-free.

The HVAC industry is in the midst of an exciting revolution. The European Green Deal has triggered new policies and regulations which are all aimed at fulfilling EU’s ambition to create a climate-neutral-economy by 2050.These changes and recent additional EU initiatives are accelerating the decarbonization of technologies used for heating our buildings. As a result, we see an increasing need to switch from fossil fuel heating systems to more energy efficient heat pumps. This can have a big impact in the reduction of CO2 emissions related to the climatization of our homes. High temperature heat pumps can be an interesting alternative for home-owners looking to move away from traditional heating solutions, such as gas boilers. With the launch of the new EHS Mono HT Quiet, we’re proud to offer home owners an innovative climate solution that can help them take that important step forward towards fully electric heating.” – Manuel Sanchez Sanz, Director PreSales, BDS, PM & Customer Service

Operating efficiently whilst providing higher water temperatures

Many older houses in Europe are still using radiators which require a hot water temperature of 65°C or higher to heat rooms effectively through convection circulation. However, regular heat pumps normally operate at temperatures between 55°C - 60°C. The new EHS Mono HT Quiet on the other hand, is able to consistently provide hot water of up to 70°C[4] for domestic heating purposes. This can make it a suitable heating system replacement in older residential spaces that have been previously dependent on gas boilers for their heating needs.

Compared to a conventional model, the EHS Mono HT Quiet has an enlarged heat exchanger (approximately 8.8% larger) that is capable of transferring heat quickly and more efficiently[5]. Fitted with a new Scroll Compressor that enables the compression of refrigerants at much higher pressures, and Flash Injection Technology which increases refrigerant flow, this high temperature heat pump is able to continue working reliably, even at temperatures as low as -25°C.[6] The outdoor unit also features improved anti-corrosion capabilities on the heat exchanger and chassis to ensure maximum durability in extreme weather conditions.

Additionally, this heat pump has a SCOP* of A+++ energy efficiency[7] rating, and therefore proven to operate with a high level of efficiency. The unit can also be remotely controlled with SmartThings[8], which amongst its other benefits, also features the possibility to monitor energy usage daily, weekly and monthly at a glance[9].

Quiet operation means minimal disturbance and unwanted sounds, all year round

Powered by innovative noise reducing technologies, the Quiet Mark certified EHS Mono HT Quiet, operates at noise levels as low as 35 d(BA)[10] using a 4-step Quiet mode. The heat pump’s outdoor unit features a double-layered sound insulation system fitted with a patented Groove Grid Felt design[11], which effectively blocks and absorbs noise produced by compression parts and vibrations. Spring Grommets (instead of rubber grommets) are used for the compressor mounting, thus reducing the vibration transfer rate by 90%[12]. The compressor utilizes a reinforced crankshaft which decreases low frequency resonant noise, while the outdoor unit employs a multi-serration fan, which significantly reduces the noise it generates by minimizing the air vortex.

A hassle-free installation and servicing process

The outdoor unit of the EHS Mono HT Quiet is designed to be simple to install and maintain. The heat pump’s internal parts are easily accessible via the side panel which can be removed by simply undoing 3 screws. This significantly saves time and effort during the installation and servicing process.

Design forward: Seamlessly blending into any building’s exterior

The EHS Mono HT Quiet is styled in a dark grey color which complements the current design trend for modern building exteriors and adds elegance to a multitude of outdoor facades from renovation builds to luxury homes. The outdoor unit, approximately 1m in height, is fitted with a new horizontal black grille composition which screens its inner mechanics from sight[13].

Availability in European market starting end September

The EHS Mono HT Quiet is the first in Samsung’s premium high temperature heat pump line up. It will be available across Europe from the end of September this year in 3 capacities (8, 12, and 14KW), including both the single and three-phase power supply system. All capacities will come in the same chassis. The availability of this new model differs per market.
