Update the Firmware on Your 2017 UHD TV

Users may update their UHD TV to the latest Firmware when it becomes available over the Internet or using a USB thumb drive. To update your UHD TV's Firmware, follow the steps below.

DO NOT turn off the TV until the update is complete. The TV will turn off and on automatically after completing a software update. Video and audio settings will be reset to their default settings after a software update.

Update Over the Internet

  1. Press the Home button on your remote.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Support > Software Update.

  3. Select Update Now.

    •To automatically receive new updates, select Auto Update.
    •Menu options may vary depending on the model.

  4. Any new updates will be downloaded and installed. If there are no new updates available, select OK.

Download Firmware

  1. On the Samsung Support page, click on TVs.

    If you don't see your TV, click FIND DEVICE BY MODEL CODE and enter the model code.

  2. Select your TV.

  3. Scroll down to Product info and select the Line up and Series of your TV and then select SUBMIT.

    You can also search for your TV's model number by clicking MODEL NUMBER.

  4. Scroll down to Product info again. All available downloads will be listed under Downloads. To download a firmware update, click on DOWNLOAD next to the update.

  5. Select CONTINUE. Review the End User License Agreement and Privacy Policy. Select the checkbox and then select I ACCEPT.

    Make sure that there are no other files in the USB thumb drive and that the firmware files are located in the top-level folder.

  6. After the firmware is downloaded, extract the files onto a USB thumb drive.

  7. The firmware is ready to be installed.

Update Using USB

You must have the Firmware File extracted onto your USB Thumb Drive before proceeding with the steps below.

  1. Plug in the USB thumb drive containing the firmware upgrade into a USB port on the One Connect.

  2. Press the Home button on the remote.

  3. Navigate to Settings > Support > Software Update.

    Menu options may vary depending on the model.

  4. Select Update Now.

  5. To search the connected USB thumb drive for update files, select Yes.

  6. To install the firmware update, follow the on-screen instructions.
