Set up and use PayPal in Samsung Pay

PayPal in Samsung Pay on Galaxy phone

PayPal and Samsung Pay have joined forces, so buying stuff is even easier. You can store money in your PayPal account, or use it to make in-store purchases. If you don't have one already, you'll need to set up a PayPal account.

Set up PayPal with Samsung Pay

If you've already got a PayPal account, connecting it to Samsung Pay is really simple. Or, if you want more information, you can check out PayPal customer support.

Open Samsung Pay on your phone, and then tap Menu (three horizontal lines). Tap Cards, tap Add cards, and then tap Add PayPal. You will be directed to PayPal.com. Enter your PayPal credentials, and then tap Log In. Select your desired option for saving your sign-in information, tap Next, and enter a PIN specifically for PayPal on Samsung Pay. Enter the PIN one more time. Finally, review the details, change the desired settings, and select Agree & Continue. Your PayPal is now linked to your Samsung Pay! Tap DONE.

Note: A PayPal account and an internet connection is required for setup.

Use PayPal with Samsung Pay

Until now, you could only use PayPal for online purchases. If your account is connected to Samsung Pay, you'll be able to use PayPal in stores that have NFC readers or accept Samsung Pay.

From the Lock screen or anywhere Favorite Cards are saved: Swipe up the Samsung Pay tab from the bottom of the screen. Swipe to the PayPal card and then select the desired unlock method. Enter your unlock credentials, and then place the back of your phone against the card or NFC reader. 

From Samsung Pay: Open the Samsung Pay app. Select Wallet, and then select the desired PayPal card. Tap PIN or IRIS, and then enter the required security information. Or, if you have fingerprint security set up, just place your finger on your phone's fingerprint scanner. Then, place the back of your phone against the card or NFC reader.

Note: The NFC feature on your phone needs to be turned on.
