Use Amazon Dash buttons on your Family Hub smart fridge
Samsung and Amazon have partnered up to provide Amazon Dash buttons on Family Hub smart fridges. Dash buttons are Amazon provided "buttons" that make it easy to reorder the everyday essentials that keep your household running. And leaving feedback for Amazon Dash buttons makes the whole experience even better.
Note: An Amazon Prime membership is required to use the Amazon Dash service on the Family Hub. Amazon Dash is used for product purchases only. No other services can be used or accessed through Amazon Dash buttons.
Didn't Amazon discontinue Dash buttons?
Yes. Amazon discontinued their physical Dash buttons, but the virtual dash buttons are still active and available for use on your Samsung Family Hub refrigerator.
Order from Amazon Dash
The Amazon Dash widget on the Family Hub will display your added Dash buttons. All you need to do is tap the button, and you can quickly order your favorite items. But first, you'll need to sign in to your Amazon account and set everything up.
Navigate to the Amazon Dash widget on the Family Hub. If you've removed the widget, you can re-add it from the Apps menu.
Tap the widget to open the app. Follow the on-screen instructions and use the code to sync your account using a computer. Alternatively, you can tap Sign in on the Family Hub panel and sign into your Amazon account manually.
Note: If you do not have a Amazon Prime membership, you will not be able to access the app on the Family Hub, even if you sign in.
Once you are signed in, tap Yes, set my PIN. You'll be taken to Amazon's website where you can set your PIN. The PIN is a safety measure so no one accidentally buys an item when they press a Dash button by mistake. If you don't want to set a PIN now, just tap No, thank you.
The Amazon Dash app will automatically display any buttons you've added to your Amazon account.
To change what buttons appear in the Amazon Dash widget, tap Edit widget. Select and deselect the buttons as needed. You can have a total of six buttons on the widget.
If you want to change what Dash buttons appear on the Family Hub, you'll need to edit them on your Amazon account using a computer. You cannot change the buttons directly from the fridge.
When you're ready to order something from Amazon Dash using the Family Hub, tap your desired button on the Dash widget. This will show you more details about the product.
If you want to purchase the item, navigate back to the button and tap Buy now. The item will be instantly purchased through Amazon, using the credit card and billing information you have set up for 1-click purchases on Amazon.
You can view the order by tapping the Dash button again, or by going to your Amazon account on a computer.
