Missing out on updates is never fun, especially when it comes to SmartThings. That's because updates can install new features, fix annoying bugs, or add more compatible smart devices.

There are two ways to update SmartThings: through the app itself or through the Play Store.

On your phone, navigate to and open SmartThings. Tap Menu (the three horizontal lines), and then tap Settings. Next, swipe to and tap About SmartThings. If an update is available, tap Update and review the on-screen instructions.

Remember, you can also update the app through the Play Store. On your phone, open the Play Store, and then tap your profile icon in the top right corner. Tap Manage apps & device, and then tap Updates available. Tap Update next to SmartThings.
