Fingerprint recognition for Galaxy Tablet

Last Update date : 2023-06-25

Fingerprint recognition has become an integral feature of modern smartphones and tablets, enhancing device security and providing a convenient and swift method of user authentication.

In order for fingerprint recognition to function, your fingerprint information needs to be registered and stored in your device.

  • Fingerprint recognition on Galaxy tablets enhances device security by using unique fingerprint characteristics. However, in rare cases where similar fingerprints exist, the sensor may mistakenly identify them as identical.
  • When using a screen protector, ensure it supports the on-screen fingerprint sensor.
  • If fingerprint is used as a screen lock, an alternative method like pattern, PIN, or password is required for initial device unlocking.
  • If fingerprint recognition fails, unlock using the alternative method and re-register fingerprints.
  • Changing to insecure lock methods will delete biometric data, requiring re-registration for app and feature use. Forgetting the alternative method may result in data loss or device reset.
  • Samsung is not liable for any inconvenience or data loss caused by forgotten unlock codes.

Note: Please refer to the specific device's manual or official documentation for accurate and up-to-date instructions.
