Samsung Dryer Information Codes

If your washing machine fails to operate, you may see an information code on the screen. In most cases, it is not a mechanical problem. Check the codes and instructions below and try the suggestions that are given.

Major Information Codes

The first step before you do anything else in order to get the dryer back in operational mode is to unplug the dryer and wait at least 30 seconds before reconnecting it. Sometimes just doing this will help the dryers internal motherboard reset and will begin to function properly.

Door is open

Dryer operation with the door open.

  • Close the door and start again.
  • Make sure no laundry is not caught in the door.
  • Check if the Child Lock is on. If the Child Lock is on, you may get this message when you open the door even though the dryer is not operating.

NC, NC1

Check filter

Lint filter problem.

  • Check the lint filter assembly.
  • If this information code remains, please contact a Samsung service centre.

Check inner cover of heat exchanger

Internal heat exchanger cover problem

  • Check the internal heat exchanger cover assembly.
  • If this information code remains, please contact a Samsung service centre.

5C, 5E

Check drainage

Internal heat exchanger cover problem

Air temperature sensor problem.

  • Clean the lint filter or the heat exchanger.
  • Check for a clogged lint screen.
  • Check if the vent system is restricted.

tC5, tE5

Compressor temperature sensor problem.

  • Wait two to three minutes.
  • Turn the power back on and start again.
  • Check for a clogged lint screen.
  • Check if the vent system is restricted.
  • If this information code remains, please contact a Samsung service centre.

FIL + tEr

Buzzer rings

Heat exchanger needs to be cleaned.

  • Clean the heat exchanger.
  • If this information code remains, please contact a Samsung service centre.

Electronic control problem (Invalid Communication).

Check the communications between the main and the inverter PBAs.

  • Try restarting the cycle.
  • If this information code remains, please contact a Samsung service centre.

 HC, HE

Compressor overheating / High temperature heating check.

  • Check the circuit breakers in your home's electrical box to see if they have tripped. Reset if they have tripped.
  • Unplug the dryer and check the wiring connections on the heating element. (This requires a licensed professional electrician.)
  • Clean the lint filter.
  • If this information code remains, please contact a local Samsung service centre.

FC, FE

Invalid power source frequency

  • Try restarting the cycle.
  • If this information code remains, please contact a Samsung service centre.

9C1/9E1

The electronic control needs to be checked.

  • Check if the power is supplied properly.
  • Check if the power cord is plugged in. 
  • If this information code remains, please contact a Samsung service centre.

dF

Incorrect door switch.

  • Unplug the dryer and check for loose or damaged wiring connections in the door/lock switch circuit.
  • It may be necessary to replace the entire door lock/switch. If so, please contact a Samsung service centre.
