If your washing machine fails to operate, you may see an information code on the screen. In most cases, it is not a mechanical problem. Check the codes and instructions below and try the suggestions that are given.

Major Information Codes

The first step before you do anything else in order to get the dryer back in operational mode is to unplug the dryer and wait at least 30 seconds before reconnecting it. Sometimes just doing this will help the dryers internal motherboard reset and will begin to function properly.

Dryer operation with the door open.
 

  • Close the door and start again.

  • Make sure no laundry is caught in the door.

  • Check if the Child Lock is on. If the Child Lock is on, you may get this message when you open the door even though the dryer is not operating.

Check drainage

 

Drainage Problem

 

  • Make sure the drainage hose is not bent or damaged.
 
  • If the hose is frozen, wrap the hose with a towel soaked in warm water for approximately ten minutes to thaw the hose.
 
  • Empty the water tank, turn on the dryer, and start again.

  • Clean the lint filter or the heat exchanger.
 
  • Check for a clogged lint screen.

  • Check the circuit breakers in your home's electrical box to see if they have tripped. Reset if they have tripped.
 
  • Unplug the dryer and check the wiring connections on the heating element. (This requires a licensed professional electrician.)
 
  • Clean the lint filter.
