Green Camera & Microphone Icon appearing on my Galaxy Phone

Keep prying eyes and ears away. A green dot will appear in the upper right corner of the screen when any app is using the camera or microphone. You can also use quick panel controls to temporarily block all apps from using the camera or microphone. Follow the below guide for step-by-step instructions.

Please Note: This guide is designed for Australian variant Galaxy devices, if you have an international device and require further support click here to get in touch with your Samsung subsidiary. This setting is only available on Galaxy devices operating on OS 12 and above.

1 When launching an app that has permissions to your camera or micophone (e.g. Camera app) green camera and micophone icon will appear on the top right of the screen

2 Using 2 fingers swipe down on your screen to access your Quick Settings Panel

3 Tap on green
Tap on green camera and microphone icon
4 Select the pop-up message
Tap on green camera and microphone popup message
5 Select Camera or Microphone permission
Tap on camera permission
6 Choose your preferred Camera permission

To view and manage all apps that have access to your microphone and camera, you can easily update these permissions within your Apps settings.

1 Open your Settings and select Apps
Tap on Apps
2 Tap on More options
Tap on 3 dots
3 Select Permission manager
Select Permission manager
4 Select an option
Select microphone
5 Choose an App
Select Google app
6 Then adjust the microphone settings to suit your preference
