How do I set up Samsung DeX?
Take multitasking to the next level. In Samsung DeX mode, you can take a closer look at things like videos, artwork, and documents on a larger display while still using your phone as a phone. Watch movies on the monitor while checking texts, or take a call while reviewing documents without breaking your focus. With Samsung DeX, you have two screens – so you can do twice as much.

Setting up the DeX Station with your Galaxy Phone

Note: You may not use the multimedia dock if you have attached a certain type of case, such as a flip cover or a hard case cover to your mobile device.
Connecting a keyboard or mouse
Connect a mouse to use Samsung Dex mode. Connect a wired mouse and keyboard to the multimedia dock’s USB port or connect a wireless mouse and keyboard with the Bluetooth feature of the connected mobile device.
Note: If you connect a keyboard, the virtual keyboard is not displayed on the screen. To display the virtual keyboard go to the Settings app > select Samsung DeX → Show virtual keyboard in Samsung DeX switch to activate it to display the virtual keyboard on the screen.
- Wireless mouse and keyboard: Insert a wireless receiver into the USB port.
- Bluetooth mouse and keyboard: Connect to a mobile device via Bluetooth.
Using the DeX Station
Samsung DeX Panel: Allows you to Exit DeX, Lock DeX and test Samsung DeX Labs.
Apps: Open up apps downloaded on your Galaxy phone and use them in DeX Mode.
Recents: Just like on your Galaxy phone, you can tap on the recents button to view your most recently used apps.
Home: If you have multiple pages or apps running on at a time, tap on the Home button to go back to your Samsung DeX Homepage.
Back: Tap the Back button to go back a step or to go back to a previously clicked page.
Collapse: Click on the Collapse button to hide extra settings like Weather, VoLTE and Bluetooth Settings.
Samsung DeX: Select to switch to use Screen mirroring.
Samsung DeX: Tap on Samsung DeX to learn how to use the Touchpad gestures.
Quick Settings: Tap on your Quick Settings to enable or disable certain settings on your Galaxy phone.
Keyboard: Touch on the Keyboard button to activate or deactivate the keyboard on your Samsung device.
Finder: Finder will access native apps on your device storage to search for items.
To get out of Touchpad mode on your Galaxy phone, swipe up to view your navigation bar and tap on the Home button. You will then be able to view your homepage and use your Galaxy phone seperately to your PC or monitor.
