Samsung Smart TV Sponsored Tiles

Samsung is excited to introduce a new way for customers to discover valuable content through a sponsored tile within selected Samsung Smart TVs.

Samsung TVs from the 2016 range onwards feature a sponsored tile within its Smart TV Hub. The tile highlights content from a range of entertainment providers, including current and upcoming movies, TV shows, sporting events as well as premium services.

What is it?

The sponsored tile will highlight content in the Samsung Smart TV Hub. Customers will be able to watch trailers, short videos and navigate directly to the highlighted content.

Why is it being launched?

Samsung is constantly seeking to develop and enhance the experience we provide customers through our TV. We look forward to working with partners in order to provide customers with access to content and services that can enhance their TV experience.

What kind of content will appear on the sponsored tile?

Content will relate to entertainment, streaming services, product reviews and content offerings including the latest and upcoming TV shows and movies. Any content on the sponsored tile will be carefully reviewed by Samsung.

Does Samsung collect data regarding smart TV usage?

Samsung takes security and privacy extremely seriously. Samsung may collect or/and process Smart TV usage data based on the Smart TV Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

If you have activated viewing information services on your TV, Samsung collects and processes viewing data through the TV’s device ID to provide you with recommendations, customised programs and other customised content.

If you have also activated interest-based advertising then Samsung also uses the viewing data to improve the Samsung Ads service and to match ads to viewer interests. Data transmission is encrypted and is gathered and analysed through randomized device IDs, which can be reset by the user. Samsung Ads employs industry-standard security safeguards and practices to protect information.
