[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Samsung 990 2TB SSD due to being out of storage and having to uninstall games and other software for new items, So far it has exceeded my expectations and has great Write Speed and Read speeds, Read was bench marking at 7015 write speeds was 5800, The Samsung Magician app is really cool too because it lets you check the drive health and see exactly how it’s running, it showed me the Host Memory Buffer. Plus, 2TB is a ton of space, so I don't have to delete games to make room for new ones anymore. I would definitely recommend this product, it does not disappoint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Samsung 990 NVMe 2TB SSD for a little while now, and it's been a solid upgrade. Everything feels noticeably faster, from booting up my PC to loading games and transferring large files. Installation was simple, and it was recognized right away without any issues. What I like most is that it stays fast even when moving bigger files, and I haven't run into any lag or stability problems. The 2TB capacity also gives me plenty of room for games, photos, and work files without constantly worrying about running out of space. It's definitely not the cheapest SSD out there, but the speed and reliability make it worth spending a little extra if you want something that just works.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Samsung 990 NVMe M.2 SSD MZ-V9V1T0B/AM at a discount and was upgraded to the 2TB version! Yay me! It was perfect timing as I needed a new SSD since my 4 year old 512 GB SSD was getting full, plus more speed is always good. The process to install the SSD was very simple, I just removed the screw holding on to the SSD and replace it with the new one and then placed the screw back. The difference between the Samsung 990 vs the old one is night and day. The computer boots up so much faster and games as well as applications open way faster. Another benefit of this SSD is that file transfer is a lot faster than the previous SSD. I’m very happy with this purchase and the SSD seems very reliable so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't know if I was behind in the technology in read and write speeds of SSDs, but this thing is crazy fast! I put my operating system on it and my boot time is crazy! Programs seem to be running smoother and transferring files *chef's kiss*. I ran a few speed tests, and I think I may need to upgrade my motherboard for this. Everything seems to be working perfectly though. I would for sure recommend this to anyone looking to up their gaming experience or just for someone who is looking for something reliable with speeds and space.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was running out of storage for photos, videos, and documents on my phone and computer, so I picked up this SSD to help out. Honestly, it's been super easy to use and all the extra storage was great. All I had to do was plug it in, format it, and it was good to go. Probably only took a few minutes to set up and format, and then a few more minutes to transfer all the files in. Was much faster than expected overall to get everything I wanted done. I moved about 200 GB of files over and was honestly surprised by how fast it went, even with big folders with lots of photos, videos, and other files. I would not hesitate to use it for larger backups either, and for the price, I think it's a solid deal and value. I would definitely recommend it for its speed and also seems like it was built well and will be dependable for years to come.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is “solid” SSD from a very reputable company. Very reliable with good warranty. This is M.2 so make sure your computer supports this format. Benchmark results show reading speed of 7080MB/s and write speed of 5890MB/s. Plenty fast for pretty much anything. What I am using this for though, is using as external storage. I put this inside USB4 enclosure. The speed drops to about 3700MB/s, but instead I get a portable storage with huge space. Very happy with this set up. The speed stays fast consistently. I haven’t run across any issues. When you’re thinking to make it into portable storage, make sure to get a good quality enclosure. The enclosure is almost as important as the ssd inside. To sum it up, this ssd is a very fast and reliable, versatile storage option. I couldn’t ask for more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This drive provides ample storage for today's gaming, which can have file sizes up to hundreds of gigabytes. The speeds are well above anything needed for current games, so the performance has a lot of headroom to deal with the higher loads that are sure to be needed in future games. The installation was simple and easy in my PC, and I had the drive initialized and in use within 10 minutes, including removing my heat sink twice because I forgot to expose the thermal pads the first time around. I always buy Samsung drives, and I've never had one fail. Samsung is one of just a handful of brands that actually manufacture their own memory products from start to finish, so they have control of the entire process to ensure quality is top-notch. I'm looking forward to many years of use with my new storage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was needing a new SSD for my PS5 as files Video Game Files are getting bigger and bigger and the stock 825GB in the PS5 is not sufficient enough with the ever growing library of games (especially now that a lot of games are going digital vs. DVD). Having this 2TB drive allows us to keep games on the drive vs. having to have delete and download games constantly. With more free space on the drive we don't have to manage what to keep and what to remove

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this as an external backup drive for moving pictures, videos and data. The speed of this Samsung 990 is somewhat comparable to my Samsung 990Pro that’s inside my computer. As at 2TB drive I will have plenty of storage for all the critical files I have. I really like the plug and play of the NVMe style of drive for the computer AND as a backup drive it’s a small form factor as well, making it idea for portable application. It’s perfect for large video game transfers but recommend having it heatsinked or in a compatible heatsinked external drive as it gets warm on huge transfers. I did notice not as warm as the 990 pro version as they did some magic to get more performance at less power, therefore less heat. I would also recommend Samsung Magician software to monitor drive performance, provisioning and health. Great drive can’t do any better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For productivity and gaming, this is a fantastic choice for most users. Super easy installation, good performance and endurance, and easy installation with no issues. I've had multiple Samsung drives over the years and never had an issue. The speeds just about max out Gen4 PCIe and are great for gaming, some development, and general productivity usage. Just keep in mind that this model doesn't have DRAM, so it's not the drive I'd run Adobe Lightroom or the like on. I've been using it for storing large language models and programming projects, and it's been great at loading dozens of gigabytes speedily into my GPUs VRAM. It's also fantastic for playing games like Horizon Forbidden West and Cyberpunk 2077, allowing for fast startup speeds and quick loading screens. Samsung Magician is great software for setting up your drive, making sure the firmware is up to date, and benchmarking drives yourself.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is such an upgrade to My gaming pc and I exactly what I needed. The extra memory is much appreciated. Installation was simple and easy. All I had to do was remove the package from its packaging and slot it in of my computer. After setting it up in my computer, the drive simply worked. After moving my games and programs to the new drive, I noticed much faster loading times, quicker game launches, and a more responsive system overall. Large files transfer much faster, and installing games is noticeably quicker than before. My computer also feels smoother when multitasking since I have more space available and no longer have to worry about constantly managing storage. Speeds are high as the program I installed on to this demonstrated noticeably lower loading times than previous. Given the easy installation, efficient operation, and general lack of problems, I am very much satisfied with this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Samsung NVMe drives for years, and this 2TB 990 continues the trend of dependable, no-drama performance. My system already has five older Samsung 980 Pros, so I had a pretty solid baseline for comparison. CrystalDiskMark results were right where I expected for a fast PCIe 4.0 drive, with sequential performance approaching the advertised 7,250 MB/s reads and 6,450 MB/s writes. More importantly, it feels consistently responsive during large file transfers, game installations, and everyday workloads rather than simply producing a good benchmark screenshot. Yes, it is PCIe 4.0 rather than PCIe 5.0, but that is perfectly fine for most enthusiast systems. Outside of specialized workloads, the real-world difference is rarely dramatic enough to outweigh the added heat and cost of many Gen 5 drives. This 990 also runs surprisingly cool under my motherboard’s standard M.2 heatsink. Overall, it is a fast, efficient, and sensible upgrade. Based on my long-term experience with the five 980 Pros already in my system, Samsung remains one of the first brands I consider when I need another SSD.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a chance to install a Nvme 2tb Samsung SSD 990. The drive has completely exceeded my expectation as the read and write speed a huge upgrade from my previous Nvme drive. I was able to transfer my data from old nvme drive to new drive smoothly and without any issues. After the transfer I did not run into any issues with Samsung SSD990. Thy nvme drive installation was seamless, and it fit perfectly on the board with the heatsink. I tested the drive through both Samsung Magician and CrystalDiskMark and they both pulled really well read/write response time. To test the drive with real work scenario I installed multiple games and productivity app in a short period to time. The drive was able to handle the load effortlessly with a decent response time. Once the games were installed, from launch time to game page loading was fast in comparison to my previous nvme drive.. The productivity apps were also able and able to launch quickly as well, while simultaneously installing the games. The thermal efficiency under heavy stress test with desktop apps was at 110F with zero thermal throttling. If you are looking for a relivable NVME drive to upgrade for your pc or laptop this drive delivers speed and performance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this SSD for my PS5 and it is wonderful! The installation was pretty quick — I just needed to pop the cover off and install it. I rebooted my PS5 and it recognized it right away. The speed was pretty consistent and was close to the 7,250 MB/s reads that they advertised; I was able to move my 800GB library onto the SSD, and it kept the speed consistent throughout the whole copy. Coming to the gaming performance itself, I didn't notice any lag between the native PS5 disk and the games played from the SSD — both were consistent and the difference was unnoticeable. I was playing God of War off of the SSD, and the frame rate was constant, without any lag throughout the entire game. Having had it for a couple of weeks now, I haven't noticed any degradation; it seems to be pretty consistent. I also checked on the disk after a long gaming session, and it was cool to the touch so they did a great job with design and power management. I also feel like 2 TB is a good size, as you get about 1.8 TB of usable drive space, so you can install a couple of big FPS shooters on the drive itself. Overall, given its size, speed, and consistency, I was very pleased with this SSD and would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been really happy with the Samsung 990 SSD. I mainly use my PC for gaming, general storage, and moving larger files around, and this drive has handled all of it without any issues at all. Games and programs load quickly, installs and updates don’t feel like such a chore, and just in general everything feels very responsive. The difference is especially noticeable when launching larger games or moving a folder full of files. Transfers that used to give me enough time to walk away are often finished before I even think about it. The speeds are really impressive, and it definitely reflects in my real-world performance. The 2TB capacity gives me a good amount of room for games, photos, documents, and other everyday files without immediately worrying about space. I especially think this will vastly improve my productivity from saving time on launches, transfers, and just getting done what I need to faster. Installation was straightforward, and the drive has been stable and dependable so far. Honestly, the best compliment I can give it is that I don’t really have to think about it. It just works, and it works quickly. If you’re looking to add fast storage to a gaming PC or make everyday file transfers less painful, the Samsung 990 is an easy drive to recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Today I am very exited to have the opportunity to review the new Samsung 990 SSD. I am a long time PC builder, and gamer, and Samsung has been my go-to for SSDs for some time now. I have been in the market for a 2nd fast drive for my PC so I was very excited to get to try this new Samsung SSD. My current PC is running on the latest AMD chipset so having another NVMe drive is awesome. In the past I have always found Samsung drives to be very reliable. As soon as my new drive arrived I installed it in the next open slot under my graphics card. I am using the motherboards included heatsink and I am happy to report that the drive is running perfectly and maintaining great temperatures. For the review I installed some of my newer games on this secondary drive and I also set it up as a spot for some of my older photos that I had on an external drive. My main system (OS) drive is also a Samsung NVMe drive and in testing this new 990 drive is faster. Using 3DMark software this 990 drive is putting up great numbers and I am impressed by the bandwidth. I think this 990 series is great for gaming and daily use. There are a lot of other players in the NVMe drive space but for me I am sticking with and recommending what I have found to be tried and true; Samsung. I have never had to RMA a Samsung drive and I can't say the same about other brands. I am thrilled to have this running as my secondary drive and if I didn't have to perform a clean OS installation I would make this my main system drive without hesitation!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installed and put to use this SSD last Monday, right after I got back from a business trip, so I've had a few days to actually put it through its paces rather than just running benchmarks and calling it done. I do volunteer work for a nonprofit I'm involved with, and part of that means reviewing some fairly large datasets, spreadsheets with a lot of rows, cross-referencing records, that kind of thing. This drive handles that without any lag, opening and saving large files feels instant compared to what I was using before. Whether that's the SSD or just me imagining things because it's new, I can't say for sure, but the difference felt real. I also just wrapped up a kitchen and patio renovation, and there was a lot of AI-assisted design work involved, rendering layout options, generating reference images, collecting inspiration photos, plus storing raw photo files from the actual construction progress. That's a lot of picture and raw data sitting around, and having a fast scratch disk for pulling those files up quickly made the whole process less annoying. I didn't do 4K video editing on this specific project, but I used it as my working drive for image-heavy design software, and it kept up fine, no stuttering when switching between large files. One thing I tested out of curiosity: I popped it into an external NVMe enclosure I already had lying around just to see how it performs as portable storage. It's noticeably faster than any external drive I've used before, though obviously you won't hit the same numbers you get running it internally, the enclosure and cable become the bottleneck at that point. Still, for moving big folders of design files or dataset exports between my laptop and desktop, it's been genuinely useful. Neutral observation, and I want to be fair here: this did not match the benchmark performance with my other SSD 990 PRO, so in my opinion, if you're doing intense 4K video work day in and day out, you might want to look at that instead. For my mix of dataset review, design work, and general productivity, though, it's been more than enough, and I haven't run into any slowdown or weird behavior yet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So my setup is a desktop PC, I mainly use it for Steam gaming and watching video. Before this SSD I had two 1TB drive installed, and now I replace both with this single 990 2TB. The install is very easy, just plug in the M.2 slot and format it, took me maybe 10 minute, no issue at all. For everyday use, I mostly download game from Steam, play for a while, get bored, delete it, then download something else, I do this pretty often. The screenshot I attach show me downloading a 15GB game on Steam - network speed around 144-186 Mbps and disk usage show 336.8 Mbps, whole download take about 15 minute. This feel smooth and consistent, no stutter or slowdown during the process, which I appreciate. Compare to my old two 1TB setup the raw speed feel similar for my use case, since Steam download is usually capped by my internet anyway rather than the drive itself. For game loading, I test a few game like loading into map and booting up big title, everything feel fast and responsive. The spec say 7,250 MB/s read speed which is very fast on paper - for casual gaming like mine the bottleneck is more likely somewhere else (like my internet speed), but I can tell the drive itself is running smooth and reliable with zero hiccup so far. One thing I really like is the convenience of having one big 2TB drive instead of managing multiple small one. Before I always need to check which drive have more space before install a new game, sometimes need to move game between drive when one get full. Now everything just go to one place and I dont need to think about it anymore, which make my whole gaming setup much simpler. Samsung also mention a lot of technology feature like thermal control and power efficiency on the product page. My PC temperature stay normal and stable, no weird noise or heat issue at all, so I think these feature is doing their job quietly in the background even if I dont notice it directly as a casual user. Overall this is a solid, reliable product with zero quality issue and I trust Samsung brand a lot. For someone like me who mainly game and watch video, the biggest win is the convenience of one big drive and the peace of mind that everything just work smoothly. Would recommend for anyone looking for a dependable upgrade.
