No. Galaxy SmartTag3 is not a standalone GPS tracker. When it is outside the Bluetooth range of your connected device, nearby participating Galaxy devices can detect Galaxy SmartTag3 and help update its location on the map.This lets you keep track of tagged belongings even when they are farther away, while location availability and update timing may vary depending on nearby Galaxy devices, network conditions and the surrounding environment.
Galaxy SmartTag3 offers up to 550 days of battery life, or up to 790 days in Power Saving Mode. This means you can keep track of your everyday belongings for longer without having to replace the battery frequently.20
Yes. Use the ejection pin supplied with Galaxy SmartTag3 to open the battery tray and replace the battery. You can check the remaining battery level in the SmartThings app to know when it’s time for a replacement.
Galaxy SmartTag3 is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance, so you can keep it attached to everyday belongings even on rainy commutes or while carrying your bags, keys or luggage on the go.21
Yes. Family members with a compatible iOS device can be added as SmartThings family members and use supported shared Galaxy SmartTag3 features. Users with iOS devices can also register Galaxy SmartTag3 directly in the SmartThings app and use supported features independently.Compass View, Notify When Left Behind, and Find phone or tablet by pressing the button are not supported on iOS devices. Some Location History features (Downloading location history and Road view), as well as Walking in Pet Care mode, are also currently unavailable on iOS devices.
Users with an iOS device can be added as SmartThings family members to take part in shared Galaxy SmartTag3 experiences. They can use supported SmartThings app features with their own iOS devices. Feature availability may vary depending on the OS of the device and whether the Galaxy SmartTag3 is shared with them.
The built-in button on Galaxy SmartTag3 supports three different actions — single click, double click and long press — giving you quick access to useful functions and SmartThings routines without reaching for your phone each time.
• Single click or long press can each be set to trigger routines you've set up, including controls for compatible IoT devices. No action is assigned by default.
• Double click can make your connected phone or tablet ring for one minute at maximum volume to help you find it. If Galaxy SmartTag3 is linked to a Pet profile, double click can instead start walk recording.
Yes. You can check Galaxy SmartTag3's location on the map in the SmartThings app and review up to 7 days of location history, giving you more information to help retrace where your tagged item has been.22
Yes. The SmartThings app can notify you when an item with Galaxy SmartTag3 becomes separated from your device. You can also receive alerts when the item starts moving, and use Place Notification to get an alert when Galaxy SmartTag3 enters or leaves an area you've registered in the SmartThings app.23
Enhanced Compass View can help guide you to Galaxy SmartTag3, giving you intuitive distance and direction guidance as you get closer to your tagged item.Using ultra-wideband (UWB) technology and Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding with a range of up to 60 m, Compass View helps make nearby searching easier when you're looking for everyday belongings such as keys, bags or other tagged items.24
If Galaxy SmartTag3 is nearby, use Compass View to get distance and direction guidance as you move closer. If you still can't spot your item, use Ring Your Tag to make Galaxy SmartTag3 play a sound, then adjust the ringtone or volume to help you locate it in your surroundings.25
When Unknown Tag Alerts is enabled, you can receive an alert if an unknown Galaxy SmartTag is detected moving with you. You can also search for unknown Galaxy SmartTags near your current location.26
