Tired of struggling to fit your larger dishes in your Samsung dishwasher's upper rack? We understand the frustration. Fortunately, we have the solution. In this guide, we'll walk you through the straightforward process of adjusting your dishwasher's upper rack height or even removing it entirely. Why does this matter? Because adjusting the upper rack allows you to accommodate various sizes of items in both the upper and lower racks, guaranteeing a more convenient and efficient dishwashing experience.

Note: The information provided pertains to dishwashers sold in Canada.

The upper basket is purposefully designed to cradle delicate and lightweight dishware, such as glasses, coffee cups, teacups, saucers, as well as plates, small bowls, and shallow pans (provided they aren't heavily soiled).

For added convenience, you can tailor the height of the upper rack in your dishwasher. This adjustment allows the lower rack to effortlessly accommodate larger dishes.

Depending on your chosen upper rack height:

 • The upper rack (A) can comfortably house plates up to 20 cm (8 in.) in diameter.

 • The lower rack (B) can effortlessly hold plates measuring up to 30 cm (12 in.) in diameter.

Lowering the upper rack

Step 1. Grip the adjuster handles located on both the left and right sides of the upper rack.

Step 2. Using both hands simultaneously, gently push the upper rack downwards.

Notes:

  • Ensure you adjust both the left and right handles together to avoid improper dishwasher door closure.
  • Prior to adjusting the upper rack, fully extend it from the tub.
  • We recommend adjusting the upper rack's height before loading dishes. Adjusting it after loading may risk damaging your dishes.
  • The design and appearance of the racks and silverware baskets may differ based on your model.

You can remove the upper rack to make room for larger items in the lower rack. Follow the instructions below and be sure not to misplace the upper rack after removal.
