Optimizing water dispenser temperature in your Samsung refrigerator

If the water from your dispenser isn’t as cold as expected, it might be because the refrigerator water tank has been fully utilized. Samsung refrigerators usually contain a water tank of about 2 liters, typically located at the back of the lower drawer. The water temperature here should match that of the fridge compartment. To restore the optimal temperature, allow some time for the refrigerator to chill the water anew. Note that the capacity of the water tank may vary across different models; refer to your user manual for specific details.

Water from the dispenser might not be cool if it hasn’t been used for a while, as residual water in the pipes can warm up. Initially, dispense and discard the first glass of water. Continue to dispense at least 6 glasses of water or until the water cools to the desired temperature. This process ensures that you're getting fresh, chilled water directly from the tank.

For newly installed refrigerators, it's important to wait about 12 hours before using the water dispenser. This period allows the refrigerator to cool down adequately, ensuring the water in the dispenser is chilled. If needed, temporarily adjust the refrigerator’s temperature to below 39 °F (4 °C) to expedite the cooling process of the water tank.
