Adjust Galaxy Buds2 noise controls with your Galaxy Watch4

Connecting your Galaxy Buds2 to your smartwatch is perfect for when you want to control your music but do not want your phone clunking around in your pocket, such as when you are doing a workout or going for a jog. With the Galaxy Watch4, the new Buds Controller app makes it even easier to control the sound settings from the watch itself, such as Active noise canceling. You can also turn on the earbuds’ touchpads and Touch controls from the watch, which is handy if you accidentally disabled them.

Note: Information provided applies to Galaxy Buds2 sold in Canada. Available settings may vary for earbuds sold in other countries.

Note: Before you can begin controlling the Galaxy Buds2 from your Galaxy Watch4, you will need to make sure the earbuds are connected first.

Swipe up from the bottom of the watch's screen to access the Apps screen. Scroll to and open the Buds Controller app.

Scroll to and open the Buds Controller app.

If you have connected Samsung earbuds to the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone or have paired earbuds to the smartwatch previously, your watch will remember them and try instantly connecting!

Note: Place the earbuds in pairing mode if the app says they are disconnected.

If you have not paired any earbuds to your smartwatch or phone, the Buds Controller app will ask you to connect earbuds before proceeding. To do this, simply connect your Galaxy Buds2 to the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.

Connect your Galaxy Buds2 to the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.

Or, you can connect the earbuds directly to your smartwatch. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel. Swipe left until you reach the final page. Tap the Bluetooth headphones icon. If you have already paired your Galaxy Buds2 to another device and enabled Seamless earbud connection, they will connect automatically. Otherwise, make sure your earbuds are in pairing mode, and then tap Scan. When you see your earbuds, select them. They will then be connected directly to the smartwatch!

Note: Once they are connected, you can begin adjusting some of the Galaxy Buds2's settings from the app on the watch! Please see the next section for more details.

Note: Having trouble listening to music on your Galaxy Buds2 because the other people at the gym are being too loud? Just use the Buds Controller app on your Galaxy Watch4 to turn on Active noise canceling or adjust other settings so you can work out in peace.

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the Apps screen. Scroll to and open the Buds Controller app.

Use the controls in the Buds Controller app

From here, you can adjust the following settings:

  • View the battery percentage for the buds and case.
  • Turn on Active noise canceling.
  • Turn on Ambient sound.
  • Turn off all sound modes.
  • Turn Touch controls on or off.
