Step 6. Select your preferred option. We recommend choosing Update over Wi-Fi only to save mobile data.

Notes:

  • Wi-Fi is recommended: It’s usually best to update apps over Wi-Fi instead of mobile data. App updates can be large, and downloading them on mobile data may use up your data plan or result in extra charges. Wi-Fi is typically faster and more stable, making updates quicker and more reliable.
  • Updates may be delayed: App updates may not install right away. Your device will wait for the right moment (such as when it’s not being used, connected to Wi-Fi or charging) to update apps in the background without interrupting you.

You can choose how apps from the Galaxy Store update on your device. By adjusting the auto-update settings, you can let your Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet keep apps up to date automatically, or turn off this feature if you prefer to update manually.

If an app has been updated but you prefer the earlier version, you can uninstall the update to restore the version that originally came with your device.

Notes:

  • Limited to certain apps: Only certain apps allow this action, typically Samsung apps that come preinstalled on your device.
  • Warning: This option is intended for advanced users. Most people won’t need to uninstall app updates, and it's generally not necessary unless you have a specific reason to revert to an earlier version.
