Your Samsung Smart TV opens the door to more than just live TV. It’s a hub for streaming apps, games, and useful tools. Whether you're using The Frame, a QLED model, or another Samsung Smart TV, managing your apps is part of customizing your entertainment experience. In this guide, you’ll learn how to install new apps, and even lock or remove apps you no longer need. It’s all about making your TV work the way you want.

Note: This information applies to Samsung TVs sold in Canada. Steps may vary depending on your TV model and software version.

  • Sign in with your Samsung account: A Samsung account is now required to access the Smart Hub. Without signing in, you won’t be able to open or download any apps. If you skipped this step during setup, go to the Smart Hub Home and select Set Up Now to sign in. This is essential for using your TV’s smart features.

  • Some apps require internet access to work: Apps that stream content, such as Netflix or YouTube, need an internet connection even after installation.
  • App compatibility: If you can’t find a specific app to download, it likely means that the app isn’t compatible with your TV model. This is more common with older TVs. Over time, app requirements can increase, and if your TV’s hardware (like memory or processing power) can’t support them, the app won’t appear in the store. In that case, you can still enjoy your favorite services by connecting an external device, such as a media player, a game console or a compatible TV box.

If you don’t already have a Samsung account, you can create one using your phone, tablet or computer Once that’s done, signing in on your Samsung Smart TV is quick and straightforward.
