How do I check the internet settings on my TV?

PLEASE NOTE: this article refers to Samsung smart TVs (i.e. internet-connected). Images may differ slightly depending on the model and firmware on your TV.

A smart TV allows you to connect to the internet, use apps, stream, browse and shop on your TV without having to use additional plug-in devices.

Different smart TVs come with different features, so if you're not sure what your TV has to offer, go to Samsung Support and enter your model number to find the details for your TV.

TroubleshootingClick to Expand

If you are having trouble with your internet, there are a number of troubleshooting steps you can try. If you are still struggling to connect, get in touch so we can look into it further.

To move the cursor on your display, use the up or down arrow on your remote control.

1 Check your internet settings at Settings > Network > Network Status
2 If you are connecting wirelessly, make sure that your modem or router is no further than 15.2 metres away, and there are no obstructions (e.g. stone walls or fireplaces) between your TV and the router. If there are obstructions or your router cannot be moved closer, you may need a wireless booster to boost your Wi-Fi signal
3 Run the Self Diagnosis function on your TV. You can find this at Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis
4 Check your IP settings. You can find these at Settings > Network > Network Settings > IP Settings
6 If you are still unable to connect, you may need to perform a factory reset
