Samsung Wallet U.S. Privacy Notice
Effective Date: July 1st, 2025
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., along with our affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, “Samsung”), respects your concerns about privacy. This Samsung Wallet U.S. Privacy Notice (this “Privacy Notice”) applies to the personal information we obtain through Samsung Wallet (the “Service”). It does not apply to information collected by other apps, websites or services provided by Samsung. If you are a minor (under 18 years old), please refer to our Samsung Wallet U.S. Privacy Notice for Minors with a parent or guardian, which will help you understand better what information we collect and how we use it.
This Privacy Notice supplements the Samsung Privacy Policy (available at https://www.samsung.com/us/account/privacy-policy) (“Samsung Privacy Policy”) and provides additional information about how we may collect, use and share your personal information in connection with the Service. In the event any portion of this Privacy Notice conflicts with the Samsung Privacy Policy, the relevant provisions of this Privacy Notice will govern.
Information We Obtain
Through the Service, we may obtain information about you in various ways. The types of personal information we may obtain include:
Information You Provide Directly
- Samsung account information, including your password;
- contact and biographical information (such as name, date of birth, email address, and phone number);
- driver’s license or other ID information (such as other government-issued ID, work ID, or campus ID), including the photograph on your ID and your ID number;
- your campus ID, your enrollment information including but not limited to your ID number, name, photo, educational institution and department details;
- payment card information (such as credit and debit cardholder name, card number, billing address, expiration date, and security code);
- banking information (such as bank account number, routing number, account balance, ATM activity, mobile check deposit information, and information associated with bill payment);
- banking and contact information of any joint account holders;
- contact information of individuals to whom you send funds through the Service; and
- other content you choose to add to the Service (such as loyalty cards, coupons, event tickets, passes, digital keys, and other items you add).
Information We Obtain By Automated Means
We may obtain the following information about you by automated means in connection with your use of the Service:
- information about your devices (such as device model, operating system (OS) version, device configurations and settings, and device identifiers (including IP address, mobile network operator, mobile country code, IMEI, Wallet User ID, and Wallet ID));
- information about your use of the Service (including how, when, and for how long you use the Service, and the devices you choose to connect to the Service);
- information about transactions you complete through the Service when you use certain features such as the Cash Back feature and when you use certain branded cards (such as the name and location of the merchant or individual completing the transaction and transaction amount);
- your location information (such as through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals, and with your separate consent, your precise geolocation. Your device will notify you when the Service attempts to collect your precise geolocation); and
- information about third-party websites, apps, features, programs, products, and services you choose to connect to the Service (such as merchant loyalty programs, third-party digital identity programs, and third-party digital key programs).
We also may collect other information about you, your devices and apps, and your use of the Service in ways that we describe to you at the time of collection or otherwise with your consent.
The Samsung Privacy Policy also describes other information we may collect, including through cookies and third-party analytics services.
How We Use the Information We Obtain
We may use the information we obtain through the Service for the purposes described in the Samsung Privacy Policy and to:
- identify and authenticate you so that you may use the Service;
- provide you with the Service (such as by allowing you to make purchases, facilitating checkouts on Samsung and third-party services, and making available event tickets, coupons, boarding passes and other items that you add to the Service);
- improve and customize your experience with the Service (such as delivering content and responses tailored to you and the way you interact with the Service);
- allow you to interact with and use third-party devices, websites, apps, features, programs, products, and services you choose to connect to the Service;
- respond to your requests, inquiries, and instructions made through or about the Service;
- market our products and services including sponsored content and promotional content from select partners
- provide advertising within the Service.
Information Sharing
As you use the Service, we share the types of information we collect (as described above) to the following entities for the purposes described above.
- Subsidiaries and Affiliates: Samsung branded and non-branded subsidiaries and affiliates which we control or own;
- Business Partners: Third parties who we work together with. These business partners control and manage your personal information. For example, we may share your information with the following types of business partners:
- content or feature providers, e.g. when you request a service or feature and it is provided by our business partner
- aggregators, e.g. platform or service providers that enable merchants and other business partners to add their content into Samsung Wallet
- financing partners when you apply for and use credit or financing;
- card companies and their networks. These networks facilitate the transactions between you, the merchant, and financial institution
- payment gateway providers. These providers help securely process and authorize payments
- identity, access control and/or payment verification service providers
- app developers
- marketing partners
- Service Providers/Processors: Carefully selected companies that provide services for or on behalf of us. These providers are also committed to protecting your information.
- Other Parties When Required by Law or as Necessary to Protect Our Services: For example, it may be necessary by law, legal process, or court order from governmental authorities to disclose your information. They may also seek your information from us for the purposes of law enforcement, national security, anti-terrorism, or other issues that are related to public security.
- Other Parties with Your Consent or at Your Direction: In addition to the disclosures described in this Privacy Notice, we share information about you with third parties when you separately consent to or request such sharing.

As stated above, this Privacy Notice supplements the Samsung Privacy Policy, which describes our information retention practices.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time and without prior notice to you to reflect changes in our personal information practices with respect to the Service or changes in applicable law. We will provide you with advance notice of any material changes by notifying you through the Service or email if we have one. We will indicate at the top of this Privacy Notice when it was most recently updated.

We (Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and our related companies) care about your privacy. This Privacy Notice will explain how we handle information about you when you use Samsung Wallet (the “Service”). If you have any questions while reading this Privacy Notice, we recommend you sit with a parent or guardian to help you review and understand this Privacy Notice.
Please note that this is a simplified version of the Samsung Wallet U.S. Privacy Notice made for users under the age of 18, not a substitute.
Information We Get
When you use the Service, we may collect, and you might share with us, certain information about you. These include:
Information You Choose to Give Us
- Information that tells us who you are, such as the information shown on your driver’s license, government-issued ID, campus ID, or other ID that you upload to the Service, including your ID photo.
- Information about your campus ID, such as your school enrollment information, like your ID number, name, photo, educational institution and department details.
- Information that lets us contact you, such as your name, phone number, and email address.
- Information about your Samsung account, such as your password,
- Information that lets you make payments through the Service, including your payment card information (such as cardholder name, card number, billing address, expiration date, and security code), your bank information (such as account number, routing number, account balance, ATM activity, mobile check deposit information and information associated with bill payment), banking and contact information of any joint account holders, bank account activity (such as when you take out or deposit money and when you make payments), and information about individuals you send money to using the Service.
- Other content you choose to add to the Service, such as coupons, event tickets, passes, electronic keys, and other items you add.
Information We Get Automatically
- Information about your device, such as the kind of device you are using, the settings you have turned on or off, and information that lets us know which device is yours (these are called identifiers, including IP address, mobile network operator, mobile country code, IMEI, Wallet User ID, and Wallet ID).
- Information about how you use the Service, such as how, when, and for how long you use the Service and the devices you connect to the Service.
- Transaction information, such as where you buy or return a product, who you send money to and receive money from, and the amount of money you spend on purchases and transactions, when you use certain features such as the Cash Back feature and when you use certain branded cards.
- Information about where you are, including information about your location, which we collect by using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. If you (or your parent or guardian) allow us, we may collect information about your location to tell us better and more exactly where you are (this is called geolocation). Your device will let you know when we are collecting your geolocation and ask for your permission.
- Information about other, websites, apps, features, programs, products, and services that are not offered by Samsung that you choose to connect to the Service, such as merchant loyalty programs, third-party digital identity programs, and third-party digital key programs.
We may also collect other information about you, your devices and apps, and how you use the Service when you allow us. When we do, we will explain it to you

How We Use the Information
We may use the information we get through the Service for the purposes below. We may not use your information for some of the purposes depending on how old you are. For example, if you’re under 13, we won’t use your information for personalized ads or marketing.
- make sure that it is you using the Service;
- let you use the Service;
- show and provide you with Service features you might like;
- fix problems with the Service;
- make the Service better;
- answer your questions and requests;
- market our products and services including offers from us and select partners
- show ads in the Service. These ads are not personalized;
- let you use other devices, websites, apps, features, programs, products, and services that are not offered by Samsung if you choose to connect them to the Service;
- keep the Service, our users and our business safe; and
- follow the law.
Sharing Your Information
Where applicable, we may share your information with other Samsung companies, business partners, and service providers that help us run the Service. Sometimes, we are required by law to share information for legal purposes, or public safety. Additionally, we may share your information when you give us permission or request it.
Specifically, business partners are other companies who control and manage your information. They are:
- content or feature providers, e.g. when you request a service or feature and it is provided by our business partner
- aggregators, e.g. platform or service providers that enable merchants and other business partners to add their content into Samsung Wallet
- financing partners when you apply for and use credit or financing;
- card companies and their networks. These networks facilitate the transactions between you, the merchant, and financial institution

How Long We Keep Your Information
We don’t keep your personal information if we don’t need it. Your information will be kept for as long as it is needed to provide you with the Service, as required by law (government rules) or contracts (promises we made to other companies), or only for as long as necessary for one of the purposes above.
Once it is no longer needed, we will either delete it or anonymize it (meaning we won’t know it’s your information).
What Can You Ask Us To Do With Your Information?
Depending on where you live, for this Service you (or your parent or guardian) have the right to ask us to:
- - give you a copy of the information we have about you and in a way other devices can read this information
- - update or fix errors in your information; or
- - delete your information.

Always talk to your parents or guardian if you are not sure.
Updates to This Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let you know before we update this Privacy Notice through the Service or email if we have one. You can always see when we last made changes to this Privacy Notice by checking the date at the top.
