Link Tesla Energy to your SmartThings account

The SmartThings app has been a great way to monitor your home's power usage, but it's always improving! Now you can link your Tesla Energy account with your SmartThings account, and keep track of all your usage in one convenient location.

Link Tesla Energy to your SmartThings account

Note
Tesla Energy monitoring is compatible on the latest versions of the SmartThings app. For android users, you will need version 1.8.17 or newer. For iOS users, you will need version 1.7.17 or newer.

Connect to your Tesla Energy account

  1. Open the SmartThings app on your phone.
  2. Tap the Life section in the bottom row.
  3. Find and tap the Energy section.

    Note: You can create a shortcut to Energy on your home screen by touching and holding it from within the Life section, and then tapping Add to Home screen.
  4. Tap the three vertical dots in the upper right corner, and then tap Link to partners.

  5. Tap Tesla Energy, and then tap Link to Tesla Energy on the following screen.

  6. This will load a Tesla sign-in page. Sign in with your Tesla account details. Once signed in, you'll be able to view your Tesla Energy details for compatible products in your SmartThings app.

What Tesla Energy products are compatible with SmartThings?

SmartThings Energy monitoring supports the following Tesla Energy products:
  • Energy Meter: SmartThings graphs the amount of Energy savings for the current day.
  • Solar Inverter: View a time series chart with the day's solar power generation, and see how much power is being exported or imported to and from the grid. 
  • Powerwall: SmartThings will show the battery percentage available and power meter data.
