I am so glad that I bought this soundbar in comparision to other brands that I had searched in the market among this price point. It gives an amazing, out of the world expericence when I attached it my Samsung Q90B 85" NeoLed Smart TV. The expoeicnce is no less than sitting in a cinema hall. With the 2 rear speakers available only in this model I highly reccomend buying it. The Wifi feature that enables you to connect your phone to soundbar given a great new expericence to listen to your favourite music. It is just the exterior design that is a little disappointment. i think thae should have made it look more curvy than straight lines.

The soundbar sounds great, has enough features to be good value for money. The only issue is build quality must be sub standard as the Auto EQ feature has never worked from delivery. I have also then been told I have had to drive almost an hour away at my own expense to have it assessed/repaired. So service seems sub par aswell. Overall if you take the gamble to recieve one and hope that is built properly and works as intended it will be a really good buy. However if you get one faulty from factory expect to go through a hard time getting it repaired/replaced.

Best value for buck. This soundbar is a masterpiece of design and engineering perfection. I had zero issues in setting up. No HDMI dropouts and works perfectly on HDMI eARC. I have re-watched few of my favourite movies and the quality of sound it produce is fantastic. Few tips: make sure you tune it once rear speakers are at the right place so sound will be optimized as per the room/speaker placement (very easy option from your phone app - info available in user guide too) And to get amazed there is heaps of Dobly Atmos short videos on YouTube to enjoy and envy your friends ;-) No brainer recommending Q990b (10/10)

I have recently purchased a Q990B sound bar to replace an old Sony sound bar with Atmos capabilities. I was initially a bit sceptical (due to the higher price range). But the moment you turned on the system, I was convinced..! The soundbar is so powerful, and the sound is mind-blowing, just out of the box. The two wireless rear speakers make a massive impact on the overall hearing. The sound is genuinely room-filling, and you can really appreciate the spatial sound effect even when playing normal audio files. The Dolby Atmos effect is fantastic and out of the world. The sheer power of the speakers and Subwoofer make this a wonderful experience, especially when watching movies. Believe me, you will hear a lot of sounds that you don't notice at all if you are using a normal sound bar. The Subwoofer is amazing, producing excellent bass but well-balanced. The speakers and subwoofers are solidly built but a bit heavy. The soundbar is not cheap, but definitely worth spending the extra money. The sound bar uses 16 channels to deliver exceptional sound effects. The rear speakers are not ordinary but use three separate channels each, providing a true spatial wrapping 3D sound effect. Samsung SmartThings App can be used to control all the sound bar functions. The LED display on the front is a nice touch. I own a Samsung TV with Q-symphony capabilities (i.e the sound bar sync with TV speakers to produce a more immersive experience) to take the listening experience to the next level. Please note this function only works with new Samsung TV models. The only drawback I have is the soundbar does not support 4K 120Hz HDMI passthrough when using my PS5, but not a big deal. Overall, this soundbar delivers excellent and powerful sound, taking your movie watching and music listening to the next level. A purchase you will never regret... :)

So I just bought this sound bar 2 days ago. Because I have a 75" Q95T tv, connection was simple, however.... There were issues immediately with the eARC. If eARC is enabled the TV will not output anything except PCM audio when watching free to air TV or streaming services such as Netflix! No 5.1 Dolby, Dolby X, ATMOS, nothing. When trying to watch a Bluray there's no audio at all, for some reason when I turn on the Bluray player the HDMI-CEC turns off, so you have to manually turn it back on again to get audio. Then if you turn the Bluray off and go back to watching tv or Netflix, it's in PCM again so you have to go into the settings again and turn off eARC to get digital audio. It's absolutely ridiculous. Called customer support, I was on hold for almost an hour, so I hung up. Tried online chat support, they were hopeless and after 50mins I wasn't any nearer to a solution. Started reading the forums and it seems that Samsung are well aware of the eARC issues and their Tv's only outputting PCM audio, have been for years and obviously haven't addressed the issue.

For the past few years we have been using an older Sony Muteki surround sound system and it started making a grinding sound as if it was on its last legs. Decided to go look at a new system and while we knew of sound bars, they weren’t really on our radar as such. But definitely glad we went with this. Not only are we still getting that crisp surround sound experience, it’s all coming from less physical speakers and no more messy cables! The bass on this is smooth and deep. You can tell the team at Samsung spent some decent time working on this product to provide an affordable quality unit for the masses.

Ever since I was a little boy living in Slovakia with my mother and absent father, it was my wish to be able to listen to high quality sounds on the television. We were poor, and most of the time struggled to find food for the night, meaning that to mother, sound on the television was the least of our concerns. When we emigrated to Australia in 2012, we had a chance for a new life, and slowly but surely have settled in the sunny browns plains. Compared to Slovakia, Australia’s wonders are many and the rich history of the land where we live inspires me greatly. Using the money I saved working at the railway, I was able to buy this fantastic product, and now I use it every day. I am addicted to the smooth, buttery sounds it produces and the way the bass rattles through my bones. For unbeatable quality for price, I would instantly recommend the HW-Q990B Q-Series sound bar.

I had another brand sound bar system (Sony) that gave me nothing but problems, I was initially hesitant to change brands to Samsung but upon talking to the great staff at JBHIFI the 990 was recommended for a comparison. All I can say is it surpassed all of the aspects of the previous soundbar, the sound is amazing and crisp and clear, the immersive sound quality of the surrounding speakers and sub are incredible. I would recommend this system to anyone! It’s the best system I have ever had and value for money price is great. Thoroughly happy with this purchase, thanks Samsung for a great product!

Rear sattelite speakers started to make crackling noises and Samsung refused to replace/repair under warranty because it was apparently within their specifications even after I sent them recordings showing one speaker was faulty! Would NOT recommend.

I bought this on 25/Nov/2022. The setup is easy, the sound quality is clear, and the bass is strong. The bad thing about it is that the top or rear speakers are very soft. I can't hear the sound from behind or the top. I can't increase the top or rear speakers' volume individually. The display is so tiny that I can't read probably. If I don't have my mobile with me then it is so hard to adjust the soundbar.

The Samsung Q990B is in unbelievably piece of kit. Turned my dining rom TV room into incredible Dolby Atmosphere sound experience. Whether is powerful rumbling bass for movies or rock concerts or simply watching sport or TV this sound bar raised the bar. How good it immediately relegated the theatre room (surround 5 speakers plus boom box) has to be upgraded immediately. So got another Q990B. Trouble is if people see this in action they just have to upgrade. Best piece of sound kit I have ever owned. Can’t recommend enough. There are some big audio names with some catch up work to do.

A minimalistic design but packs a huge punch with crisp Dolby Atmos sound. With its simple connection via Bluetooth or WiFi or HDMI the setup is nothing less than simple. The smaller rear speakers provides the room with directional and cinematic sound. Object Tracking Sound helps immerse everyone in the movie or stadium sports via its synchronisation. During first setup, I ran Samsung’s SpaceFit Sound Advance. Tailoring the crisp sound to your viewing area’s size and shape, testing the reverberations from both the soundbar and subwoofer. Overall, with its up-to-date features, including voice assistant, tap-sound, and my most used Game Mode Pro, increasing the directional audio helping me stay ahead of the game. Well. I don't write reviews often. But I am compelled to write one to share this awesome product to help others to make a decision. Our home is a beach house whose walls are just glass. My partner was very sceptical that these products will work well. I proposed for him to make contribution based on his impression. He is hard to be pleased when it comes to tech device. Tell you what, after the first day(and of course after a few weeks too), he already made his mind that these products are worth paying. It is absolutely stunning. Only thing we feel sorry for is our three chihuahuas. They feel scared of the sounding sound :). We bought also Samsung NEO TV. And all packages make us feel like we are in a cinema. The volume is around 20 which is not loud at all, but still unbelievable. The bass is like crazy. the bass is set to 2 out of 5 scale, the floor is shaking. Listening to music is such a joy. In between work, I just sit down and listen to my favourite YouTube music. Feel like I am in a concert hall. I gotta confess I don't think that I appreciate sounds systems as much as others, maybe, I don't know. But I just can heart they are great. I have another house which has Bose soundbar. Only soundbar though, but no comparison there. I would highly recommend these products. Hope this helps.

Recently purchased. There are no stands or mounting hardware included with the rear speakers - very frustrating. There is a lack of information within the manual on different setup methods. The WiFi link drops in and out and there is a distinct , intermittnet lag. Sound quality is great though. Overall a very frustrating product.

I bought this on the black Friday sales so I saved $600.00 as it was the most expensive one and let me tell you it was well worth it with wireless rear speakers,the surround sound I experience is amazing. I had surround sound before but not a soundbar.well worth the money and easy to set up,you will not be disappointed.

Was looking for a sound bar to go with my Samsung QLED Q60BTV and ended up going with the HW-Q990B Q-Series Soundbar after hearing it in the shop - have had it a few weeks now and definitely makes watching movies at home a whole lot more enjoyable - amazing home theatre experience with the adaptive sound. Only downside for me is with my set up not able to hang rear speakers on the walls so waiting on speaker stands to arrive and cords for the rear speakers are quite short too, but really happy with my purchase.

I brought the HW-Q990B Soundbar to pair with the 85" 8K QN900C TV. Straight out of the box, it was easy to plug in and setup, connecting to the TV seamlessly. A quick room calibration that has set levels up perfectly for our room. Oh wow isn't the sound impressive, its full, it is all around you and very comparable to my main top end AVR System. Speech is great from the centre of the TV without resorting to boosting, an option. available if required. rear speakers are impressive with clear ambient sounds.

The sound coming out of the sound bar is fantastic, but for some reason the sound bar keeps unlinking with the TV. Been on the phone to Samsung support for around d 6 hours and they still can’t work out the problem. They suggested we buy another HDMI cable, still occurred. Stuck the cheap HDMI cable back on which is more flexible at the end, we think we have solved the problem. Only been 3 hours, looking good. So, when you’re making these items, either put the HDMI outlets at the back of the sound bar or make the area where the HDMI goes into at least 25-30 cms and not a mere 10cms. Other than that pretty good. Hate the box that everything goes into, put it back onto the back of the TV. We are still waiting for the level 2 technician to ring us to help, as yet, nothing as usual.

I got this to go with my LG OLED tv. At first I couldn't get Dolby Atmos to work, but found there was a soundbar software update on Samsung's website. After I installed this I was immediately blown away by the amazing Dolby Atmos surround (including overhead) sound. Recently made movies really make the Atmos experience amazing through this soundbar. I appreciate that there are other features if you connect this to a recent Samsung tv, but honestly I don't think you need them. The volume from this setup is absolutely breathtaking. I normally have Atmos movies at about 15%, rarely 20%. At these levels the sound is vibrating through the floor and absolutely surrounding you. Amazingly, the sound is better than going to the movies. I absolutely, thoroughly recommend this. The best Dolby Atmos I have ever heard.

Its definitely a bigger improvement from what I had is was the Q90R Soundbar 7.1.4 The bass is noticeabley better , not huge amounts however and seems somewhat limited from the sub. The rears are improved with a higher volume that can be heard a bit more , the atmos is basically same sounding in the comparison from the 2019 version of the Q90R. With what is says 11.1.4 , I really can't tell too much of a difference and as the specs have read , it seems though there are less speakers in the main bar unit for some reason. The rears have 1 extra speaker with the front , top and now a side speaker. Its definitely no slouching when it comes to quality. But however using this for listening to music, it lacks quite a lot , however... these are designed for home theatre with movies and performance for movies are a very good quality

This soundbar combo packs a real punch. Goes louder than I can handle and still maintains clarity at high volume. The bass from the sub is surprisingly good for its size and manages to blend in with the rest of the soundstage really well. The smart things app makes setup easy and allows you to tweak just enough setting to allow for different sound tastes. This soundbar combo performs aswell as systems double its price, excellent value for money.

The sound bar and Bluetooth speakers produce very clear and concise sound. The volume from the side speakers can be a little low until you tweak the settings. The bass performance is very good for the price range. The volume ranges from 0-100, but even on 15-20 in a medium sized room the sound is like being in a cinema. Vocal ranges are clear and distinct from other effects which I've found can be an issue with other sound systems. The only issue I've had with this system is due to the fact that I have it running through my PC. Some windows updates cause havoc with the sound card drivers. Resulting in no sound when running through the PC. Fairly easy to fix though. Just roll back the driver or run diagnostics which seems to fix the problem. Just wish Samsung would keep up to date with Windows updates. Overall, a very impressive system for the price.

I bought It about a week ago. Doesn’t connect with the HDMI cable unless I unplug and plug and add it as a new item. Only connects via wifi. The sound is average, I had an older model with better sound experience but changed it to upgrade as I upgraded the tv as well about a month ago. If the system is not extremely loud you will not experience good sound quality. Not worth the money. Not happy about my purchase. Do not recommend.

You won’t be disappointed, I did the research Sony, Sonos, sennheiser & Samsung all get top ratings. The Samsung in some verdicts came out on top, for the price it can’t be beaten. Easy setup, I did some sound adjustments which the SmartThings app gives you and the sound is great. I had am expensive stereo hifi system and moved to a soundbar to get a fuller surround sound experience and it better than the hifi. 5 star.

Was looking to upgrade old soundbar and did lots of research and settled on the HW-Q990B Q series. To say that I am stocked is an understatement. The sound is amazing and as the kids said it like being at the cinema. It was easy to setup and with some adjustments got the sound to our liking and the BASE is amazing. To sum it up it is exemplary for sound and now looking to upgrade our tv to match the soundbar qualities.

Decent enough soundbar--channel placement, effects & bass are quite good for movie watching. For listening to stereo audio though, this is not really the product for you as the stereo soundscape and upper frequencies leave much to be desired. The Q990B also does not remember which settings you used for your device inout; so if you for instance watched a movie on HDMI1, using the surround preset and higher bass levels, switching to BT for stereo listening will use the exact same settings--even though these were changed to stereo and -12dB for bass last time it was used -- thus they have to be modified every time. Some phone apps playing audio over BT insist on maxing the volume to 100 during start of playback, and the soundbar *really* should have options to prevent this -- turn it up to this and play something to understand what I mean, it woke the neighbours up at 08:00 in the morning just playing for a few seconds. btw. this was not the cause for the rear channel distortion referenced below, it occurred today Another drawback is the longevity of the speakers--Samsung only offers a measly 12mo warranty on their products, and the left rear speaker turned shrill when playing certain effects after this period had passed; only the left speaker, the right is fine and did not exhibit the issue. Seems to be an impossible task to replace it now that the short warranty period has expired. For high-def music playback, the ability to support aptX would have been highly appreciated, but it is a missing feature with the Q990 soundbars. My 2y/o phone has it (priced at 1/4 of this product), so I do not see why it could not have been included for us music lovers. Lastly, the firmware updates are rather scarce, and do not at all describe what has actually been changed--or improved--in the form of a changelog. Seriously, Samsung? For a $2000 product I frankly expected more.

Ok so I am a life long AV fan. I have owned a Sony and LG sound bar previously. I was a little sceptical of the salesman’s claims about the Samsung sound bar but I should not have worried. It is awesome. Totally immersive sound from all angles and paired with my Samsung TV it is massively impressive. I would recommend this system to anyone looking for high quality sound output.

I brought the q990b 4 months ago and have had constant problems with the Bluetooth speakers and sub disconnecting. Trouble shot every possible means of a solution and still disconnects constantly. Sending to a service agent next, if problem isn’t repaired I will be returning item for full refund and shopping elsewhere in the future

We bought it after watching add and must have when we were watching Maverick! I have QN90B 75” tv and once I add the Q990B it get auto integrated in few mins. All sync and there you go! Our living is 5mx6m open space and it perfect for such environment. Add on benefits of Alexa, air play is a bonus. A must have upgrade for 2022.

This soundbar + sub + surrounds package delivers! The bass is deep and powerful...it literally shakes me on my couch. Love almost everything about it...except the stupid little lcd where text has to scroll through...that was a stupid design decision. The feel of being immersed in the sound is great. Highly recommended.

Purchased 3 weeks ago and overall happy with system. I have a question that seems I can’t find the answer to, on the rear speakers do the side speakers face in or point to the outside walls. Also when trying to balance speaker volume the rears are louder then some sound bar speakers even with them turned all the way down.

This has the best sound going. Sleek modern design fits perfectly in our entertainment room and projects a sound like no other. Just replaced my full size home theatre setup with the Samsung Soundbar. This absolutely exceeded my expectations. The setup is plug and play, it took longer to unpack. The sound quality is exceptional, and finally having a Dolby Atmos capable sound system has made a clear difference in watching big movies. Not having to deal with running speaker cables all the way from the TV to the rear speakers is a huge plus. Had it for a couple of months now, and so far am very satisfied.

Got this yesterday been playing with it gaming movies music 4k 8k and it's just sensational am so happy I pulled the trigger small I bd unit carnt turn it up over 20 and has a seperate control for subwoofer ...it rumbles and I can feel it bounce off my legs lol great system hear every little bell n whistle

If you’re looking for a good all round sound for movies and music get these. I got the rear speakers with it. I am using the rear speakers at the front because I don’t have a power point behind my lounge. They work well in front too. Impressive sound.. Stop researching get these you won’t regret it.

This product is fantastic it is unbelievably easy to setup and you hear things during shows and movies you had no idea were there. Old and new movies are extremely different when you hear everything in a balanced precision way. Not just the loud noise but the quite sounds yo don’t know we’re there.

I bought the soundbar on boxing day sale and never stop watching action movies ever since. The surround sound system is impeccable. The sound is crispy, clear, distinct and absorbing. Truly the most amazing value for money and best immersive sound system for any home.

Got this a few months ago and it was so simple to setup and has a very impressive sound. Makes not just watching moves better with the surround sound. But even Playstation games and general TV shows. Watching Stranger Things Season 4 with this system was the best.

Excellent sound quality and clarity coming from a powerful sound bar. It really comes alive when watching a movie with Dolby atoms. Your hear sounds like never before. Best part is was easy to setup. Just plug and play. Highly recommended if your sound buff.

Absolutely impressed with this system. Easily links to the TV wireless and Fibre, amazing sound quality and can't get enough of the tap feature. Tap my Samsung S23 and the music starts to play. I replaced my BOSE system with it and haven't looked back

I upgraded from the qq700b To the q990b and it is a game changer when watching movies. Seamlessly links to tv. Rear speakers could be a bit louder. The only downside is that Samsung do not have any after market wall or stand mounts for their speakers.

This is a great quality sound system and works in perfect sync with QN series TV. Acoustics are great but not exceptional that you get from a SONOS, KLIPSCH or BOSE speakers but this system is value for money.

If you want to really immerse yourself in whatever you're watching, then this is the way to go. I actually thought I was just getting the bar that goes under the tv, but it's a package with a subwoofer (? big box) and mini speakers for the back of the room. I didn't find the instructions to be the clearest, and went to my local store to ask for basic instructions to get set up. I imagine if you've used surround sound before, this wouldn't be an issue. Also, the tv was helpful in letting me know I'd plugged the hdmi into the wrong port. I like that. What I'd also like would be the ability to mount the rear speakers, but this isn't the case. We drilled holes in the wall to hang them, before realising that the provided hardware was actually to hang the soundbar and not the rear speakers, so oopsy to that. All of this is null and void of course if you arrange professional installation or are good with instructions. Set up complete, it was just a matter of selecting relevant settings on the tv, and boom, lovely sound. It really does make such a difference to the viewing experience, and well worth purchasing the matching tv and sound package.
