What is Anynet+

Anynet+ is the Samsung trading name for a feature of HDMI called Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) referred to as HDMI-CEC. It's designed to allow users to command and control devices attached by HDMI with a single remote control. This means you can use the remote of a TV to control a Soundbar or Blu-ray player attached to the TV. The other way around works too - connect a gaming console through HDMI and turn your TV on when you use the gaming controller to turn on the console. Up to 12 devices can be controlled by the one remote control; however only 1 Home Theatre System can be controlled over Anynet+ at a time.


Anynet+ can't be used with incompatible (ie. not HDMI-CEC enabled) devices, and some HDMI cables may not support Anynet+. 


Anynet+ is enabled on the HDMI ports on most Samsung TVs manufactured after 2008.

Enable Anynet+ and add a HDMI device:

1 Using your remote control, open the TV settings and then cycle down to the second last icon on the left hand side to bring up the General menu.

2 While on the General menu, select External Device Manager . On the External Device Manager page, first on the list is Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) . There you are able to turn Anynet+ on/off.

How To Add A HDMI DeviceClick to Expand
1 Set Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) to On.
2 Connect an HDMI-CEC-compliant device to the TV.
3 Turn on the connected external device. The device will automatically connect to the TV. After connection is finished, you can access the menu of the connected device on your TV screen using your TV remote and control the device.
