The Blood Pressure tracking feature on Samsung Health Monitor is compatible with Samsung Galaxy Watches and Phones to create, record, store and display blood pressure information.

However, there are some exceptions where the function cannot be used. Check below to know if you are among these exceptions.

Do not use the blood pressure feature if you are younger than 22 years old, pregnant, or have any of the following conditions:

  • Arrhythmia.
  • Prior history of heart failure or a previous heart attack.
  • Peripheral vascular disease or compromised circulation.
  • Valvular disease (disease concerning the aortic valve).
  • Cardiomyopathy.
  • Other known cardiovascular cases.
  • End-stage renal disease (ESRD).
  • Diabetes.
  • Neurological disorder (for example, tremors).
  • Clotting disorder or if you are taking prescribed blood thinners.
  • Tattoo(s) on the wrist where you will wear the Galaxy Watch.

If you think your Samsung Health Monitor is not working properly, please follow the user instructions for use and try again.

  • Make sure the wrist band is not too tight when using your watch, as this may affect the results of any measurements.
  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, nicotin, exercise or bath from 30 minutes before taking measurements.
  • Take care not to move or speak when taking measurements.
  • Take a comfort seat in a quiet place when taking measurements.

Similarly, if your readings are high and you do not think you are having a medical emergency, take at least two more blood pressure measurements and follow the guidance below before you take the measurements:

  • Do not have caffeine or alcohol 30 minutes before you start the measurement.
  • Do not smoke, exercise, or bathe 30 minutes before you start the measurement.
  • Rest quietly for at least 5 minutes before you start the measurement.
  • Make sure you are not experiencing excessive stress or anxiety during the measurement.
