How do I rotate the screen on my Samsung device?

Whether you're watching a video on your phone or presenting a presentation from your tablet, you might want to change the screen mode from landscape to portrait mode or vice versa. If you follow the below guide, you will be able to lock your screen to a particular screen mode, enable auto rotate or try some basic troubleshooting steps if your device isn't recognising the different modes.

1 Swipe down the screen to access your Quick Settings and tap on Auto Rotate, Portrait or Landscape to change your screen rotation settings.

2 By selecting Auto Rotate,you will easily be able to switch between Portrait and Landscape mode.

3 If you choose Portrait this will lock the screen from rotating to landscape.

4 To lock the screen horizontally you will first need to switch to Auto rotate, turn the screen into landscape view then select Landscape

1 Swipe down on your screen to view your Quick Panel, then tap on the word Portrait

Ensure you have either changed screen rotation mode to Portrait or Landscape as Auto Rotate will have this funtion disabled.

2 Toggle on or off Rotate button on navigation bar

3 Once you have enabled Rotate button on navigation bar if you tilt your phone horizontally you should be able to select grey rotate icon to switch to landscape mode.

If you have tried the above steps to enable Auto Rotate or lock your screen mode from Portrait to Landscape and your device isn't recognising the position its being held, it is recommended to try the following steps;

1 Restart the device
2 Start your device up in Safe Mode
