How to Connect an External Device to the Music Studio

With the Music Studio, you can connect your external devices such as gaming consoles or media player, allowing for more ways to play audio beyond wireless streaming. Follow the guide below for more information. 

Pre-connection Checklist:

  • Make sure both the external device and the Music Studio are turned off. 
  • When you use an optical cable and the terminals have covers, be sure to remove the covers. See the diagram below.

1 Use an optical cable (not supplied) to connect the D.IN (OPTICAL) port of the Music Studio and the optical output port of the external device. See the diagram below.

2 Turn on both the Music Studio and the external device.
3 Press the mic setting icon (Multi Function) button on the Music Studio until it is set to 'Digital Audio In' mode. The output speaker will announce "Digital Audio In" when mode is selected.

4 The audio of the external device will output from the Music Studio.

Note:

  • This feature is supported only on the HW‑LS7*H model.
