Samsung TV Changes Settings Automatically

There is a viewing mode on your Samsung TV called Retail Mode. When this mode is selected, any changes to the picture and sound will revert back to its original factory settings after 30 minutes. For your TV to function normally, you will need to change to Home Mode. Any changes made to your TV while in this mode will remain.

 

If you find that your TV is in Retail Mode, follow the instructions below to change to Home Mode.

1 Press the Home button on your Samsung remote control and select Settings.

2 Cycle down to the General tab on the left hand side and then select System Manager from the middle menu.

3 At the bottom of the System Manager Menu is an option called Usage Mode. While on Usage Mode, press enter on your remote control and a pop up will appear giving you 2 options to choose from Home Mode and Retail Mode. Choose Home Mode and press enter.

4 Once you have made your selection, you will be prompted to enter the TV's PIN number. The default PIN number for Samsung TVs is: 0000. For troubleshooting tips, go to Samsung TVs Default Pin code.

Please note: Depending on the model of your television the above image may vary, however, the steps to change to Use Mode is still the same. 

Other troubleshooting tips you may want to try is turning off Intelligent Mode if you have it turned on. Having Intelligent Mode activated will reset any changes you have manually made to the picture and sound.
