I have one of these as a boot drive which is close to 4 years old now still works great still performs really close to what was advertised when new. I recently got A PCI-E NVME card for my workstation and added 3 more 2TB drives. No problems with any of them. Sometimes these drives do act up. I've had to Secure erase mine once or twice due to a funky windows install or having driver issues (my own fault) then the drive doesn't show up like its "dead". Used Samsung's magician bootable USB version found all my drives no problem secure erased them all no problems. BIOS sees drives, and Windows Installs again on the drives.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the ssd to be the main storage for my operating system on my new pc and primary storage since i didnt buy another or a hard drive, but the speeds are crazy fast. im i play the same games as on my ps4 (Borderlands pre,2,3, outriders new horizion, watchdogs, fallout 4, and i usually have to wait like a min or so during screen transitions or cut scenes and would usually check my phone during this time but i cant do that with these high speeds. The transitions stick around for like 3 seconds and im back in. I got it before the 980 came out but im planning on getting it anyways and switching the primary storage for those fast load times.

I have been taking all the pics from my cell and my husbands cell and just uploading them onto our computer hard-drive forever now. It was running slow, taking forever to complete new actions and switch between programs until I installed this bad boy. We now have plenty of memory and the speed at which it runs is super fast. Like its brand new and has nothing on it. It's so awesome. Our computer boots up so fast now and we are no longer waiting for files to upload forever like before and I dont have to choose what I want to keep and not keep to make room!

This according to Samsung’s Magician. It would’ve been nice if between the laptop MFR (HP) and Samsung, someone would’ve left an extra few millimeters of space for a heat sink. It still works fine but I can’t imagine it does it any good to run hotter than what’s recommended…I have the other (3) SSDs installed in the same laptop and they run cool(er). I also have another (1) TB Samsung SATA (QVO) in a different laptop. It runs well also. All-in-all, I’d have to say I’m satisfied…

i bought 970 evo plus 1tb ssd a month ago nearly im very impressed with its performance its speed is as advetised even a bit more (read/write) its my second samsung ssd i use one as boot drive(980 pro 500 gb) but my pc is also decent enough (sadly not pcie 4 but still ok ish) specs 9700kf 32 gb ram 500gb samsung 980 pro 500 gb 1tb 970 evo plus 1tb motherboard asus prime z390 m plus (pcie 3 sadly but still very fast for me) overall samsung is great brand i use samsung phones for years i never had problems with any samsung product .even my old pc ram is samsung 2gb (been using it for over 10 years ) samsung is very good

Bought this less than a year ago and was very impressed with the performance. All of a sudden one day windows wouldn't boot up. Swapped out another hard drive and reinstalled windows on that instead. Booted it up, detects the 970 Evo 1tb in the bios, but when I go to windows there is nothing. Was able to open the drive momentarily through "this pc" but nothing could be opened or moved or changed. Tried to format and would not let me. Drive is set to read only and I cannot take it off. Samsung magician detects it and its running a scan now, getting all sorts of bad sectors. Trying to figure out how the warranty works on this because this drive should not be dead already.

installed 3 2tb samsung evo plus in raid0 in my msi gt76 titan dt-039 4k notebooks as 6tb system drive. i love having one large 6tb nvme ssd in raid0 as my system drive. using msi gt76 titan notebooks intel rapid storage software set the 3 2tb samsung evo plus in raid0 array. not as fast as a single 2tb samsung 970 evo plus would be but close enough & having a large system drive is nice. 3x 2tb in raid0 still gets over 3400 mb/sec read & over 3000 mb/sec write. love these even though samsung magician only recognizes them as raid0 drives w/ no smart support but does support running disk performance benchmark.

We had a high end computer built for us and this drive was in it. We have now had it replaced twice but I do not want to send the whole computer across the US again as shipping is ridiculous. We had the drive replaced locally and came for a warranty (since we have had it a little over two years) but since we did not buy the drive (we bought a computer) there is no proof of purchase and the builder did not itemize components - and since it has already been replaced once before (I have had the computer less than four years) even that information would be inaccurate. I have switched brands.

my samsung 970 evo plus 500gb nvme m.2 is no doubt the best ssd! i've used mine since shortly after it first came out and i've used/use others as well. my 970 still scores top speeds on tests where as other ssds i use tend to get worn out and slow down over time. i ran smartctl yesterday and my 970 has 51 tb written and still scores 2,900-3,200 reads/writes when tested. i believe it will live up to the 300tbw lifespan that the 500gb has. sure is good nowadays to be able to trust that something works because many are a let down but not samsung! excellent ssds! highly recommend!!

We needed more space. We love to travel and take tons of pictures have and videos that we want to keep safely. I have previously lost pictures with my laptop not working. We got this Samsung memory card and put in an external shell. It is amazing!! We were able to add all of our photographs and videos of all our vacation destinations and have room to add stuff (next destination : Thailand) The interface is very easy to use and the files are simple to access. This is a fantastic product and I will recommend it to anyone looking to save their precious files of any type.

The PS5 comes with an empty storage bay that you can add your own SSD to. The requirements for this expansion drive are very specific, including that it must have a heatsink attached, and the Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVME M.2 SSD fulfills those requirements admirably. Since we installed the 2TB drives, which are twice the storage capacity of the drive that comes with the PS5, we set our consoles to install new games to the Samsung drives in the expansion slots. Every game and app we've used on this drive performs flawlessly. I highly recommend this drive to anyone who needs an M.2 SSD, but especially for anyone looking to expand the storage in their PS5.

My PC has a 120 gig SSD connected via sata. I want more storage with a PCIe x4 data connection. I purchased the Samsung 970 EVO and plugged it into my motherboard in the m.2 slot. The problem came when I ran the Samsung Migration software. It errors out when it tries to migrate the data from the SSD to the 970 - very disappointing. The Samsung website offers no support. When I search the internet, I find that many other people have the same issue and recommend using other migration software. Samsung needs to address this problem.

the goal was speed and volume! i was able to transfer every game i play regularly into one drive with 800gb to spare... plenty of room for a couple in production adobe projects. i purchased two of these drives and got the advertised performance from my asrock p550 pro 4 | ryzen 7 3700x | 48 gb ram 2,400 ghz (32gb corsair 16 gb patriot) couple notes: advertised performance from only one of the two drives 1. 3550 mb/s | 3350 mb/s out of my m.2 gen 3 x 4 port. 2. 1730 mb/s | 1600 mb/s out of my m.2 gen 3 x 3 port.

Now honestly the PS4 is a great system and is fast and good with storage. But I never realized how much better could be with the Samsung 907 EVO plus M2 drive. Everything ever since has improve which is a bit mind boggling. Obviously storage is expected with 250GB but also performance, speed and gaming experience was so much better. And its quite easy to replace and set up, there are many YouTube videos out there to replace your hard drive with and SSD that have detailed step by step instructions. I would highly recommend this product to everyone not only those who want to improve gaming experience like I did but also for those who want to improve their experience on a computer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] my computer starts in under 10 seconds from a cold start and a restart is like 3-4 seconds. Applications open up in an instant. Processing happens in blink of an eye like 3d designing using CAD. All this was possible after switching to the 970 Evo plus SSD 1 TB. I have it installed in the NVME M2 slot and did install a heatsink with an active fan on it. A few months ago, the fan died and I was afraid of overheating. But as it turns out, the existing ventilation in my tower casing is enough with just the heatsink on the SSD. I was so impressed with this SSD, that i brought more and changed my laptops to this SSD from a 3.5 inch SSD! I have become so comfortable with my fast and crisp computer that now I get frustrated in my office as the computer there is "slow". Don't say you weren't warned!

With my old system and a 850 Evo as my boot disk, my boot time was 8-9 seconds. Now that's 32gb ram, 4790k CPU and gigabyte z97x Mobo. With a Asus Maximus hero xi, 9900k, 64gb trident ddr3000 and a 970 Evo plus....15-16 seconds. Have tried clean install and only drivers updates and still the same. Samsung magician states the drive is running at advertised speeds so not gonna hammer the issue but this being my first experience with m2 drives and I'm not that impressed. Maybe I'm missing something but temps are not a issue, stability not a issue, 970 drivers not a issue and OS integrity not a issue...nor bios settings. I would rate it a 3 star but it works and by no means is it slow but to double my boot time rates it at 3.5(4) stars. Would I recommend anybody buy a m2 drive over a standard SSD? Nope.

But now I'm able to work & i have like an endless supply of memory. Files transfers in & out with ease and with a quickness I haven’t found in other memory cards. I definitely have a better sense of security knowing things wont get deleted and will be there later.

I've not had a bit of problem from it so far, and I think it's been about a couple years now, or just over. At first, I wasn't sure about ssd's longevity, and reliability, shortly after installing it, it ended up being my main drive. I still back up important things to another drive because that's just common sense in case it were to fail one of these days, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

where can we see the compatability information? i'm using a fairly new dell g5 15 se 5505, with a ryzen 9 4900h. it currently has a 1tb ssd and an empty slot for a 2nd ssd. i would rather upgrade the machine by putting this in that vacant slot instead of adding a 2nd dell ssd. it calls for a m.2 pcie nvme class 40 2280, which i see this is (except the class 40 part i am not sure about). does that automatically mean that i can use this one in my machine?

so nice to be able to buy the best ssd with the easiest to use installation software ... without relying on outside reviews & demo videos. the samsung magician software that came with my ssd was a snap! i must say, that buying an inexpensive m.2 usb adapter for the new ssd files/software transfer was helpful, too. after an hour or two, magician had all my files, with the proper allocations ready to swap into the motherboard ... easy-peasy!

so far the ssd is working very well. i have been trying to register my purchase but have been unable to log into my account. when i tried it said i needed to change the password. i have requested that but await response the program said email would be sent. i also have question about setting the sata express to m2. which i did but when i went back in to check the bios it had reverted to the sata express state

The factory SSD installed on the laptop was fairly quick, but the Samsung 970 EVO Plus is blazing fast! No other SSD can compare. With 500MB/s Seq. Read speeds and 2,300MB/s Seq. Write speeds, it makes multitasking and video editing a breeze. On my laptop, the read speeds were well over 2 gbps! My computer booted a lot faster, applications and programs loaded way quicker, and video post processing was almost 50% faster! I was so amazed by the performance. The only downside for me would be the storage capacity. I wish I had a 500gb or 1tb SSD. My laptop only has one slot on the motherboard so if I want more storage, I would need an external harddrive or upgrade this SSD to a bigger capacity. However all in all, this is the best SSD on the market today!

Speeds are easily that advertised (e.g. 1.6GB/s on image backup). Quality SSD and controller. Samsung Magician does not work, though the driver software does. After removing Intel RST, speeds increased to advertised. Make sure you are not using the Microsoft generic M.2 NVMe drivers (again for speed reasons). Wish it came with M.2 screw, but no OEM does either.

A real (with moving parts) Hard Disk Drive will last as long as it's mechanically available, but a SSD has a built in limited lifespan. That's where that extra cost comes in. The only problem I faced was instructions. They are very vague when it comes to how to install or download the software. Finally we figured to download the Samsung magician software after calling Samsung. And it worked. Even though Samsung magician is hard to understand with no instructions in the manual. It took us a while to set the SSD with the software. But once it was installed, it worked with amazing speed. I think 250 GB is perfect for my use. I made partitions on Samsung magician for my kids photos and business. Still tons of space. It is Fast, affordable and amazing. I never thought of its speed will be that awesome. I use this SSD as my home based business. Since I spend doing 98% of my work on laptop. This 970 evo plus SSD saved my life. Thank you Samsung. I am always impressed with your technological innovations.

i got this to replace my 250 gb drive that came with my computer. after three weeks i find the 970 evo plus to be much quicker than the stock drive. in addition, quality is much better as the stock drive was built with minimum quality parts. i definitely recommend this drive if (like me) the 980 pro is out your price range.

After reviewing the bench marks of the 970 Evo Plus I purchased two of the M.2 SSD's & I must write, the improvements are there. If I had a CON it would not be against the SSD itself but the tool Magician; although a very good tool it does not allow access to M.2's.

I bought this in May 2019 and Smart data shows POWER ON COUNT 135, POWER ON HOURS 1915, TOTAL HOST READS 4593, TOTAL HOST WRITES 208885. Even Samsung Magician is showing 204TB written. This is a system drive in a light duty home computer used to browse internet.

Upgraded my MSI GT76 Titan DT-039 notebooks 3 PCIe 3.0 slots w/ 3x 2TB Samsung EVO PLUS NVME M.2 SSD's in RAID0 to have a 5.588 TB system drive. Unfortunately, the notebooks BIOS uses Intel Rapid Storage Technology to set up RAID array so the performance merely matches the performance specs of a single 2TB 970 EVO PLUS. I thought combining all 3 2TB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS into a RAID0 array would improve performance over a single 2TB 970 EVO PLUS but it didn't on my notebook. However, I'm glad I did it b/c now I have installed all my pc games, movies, videos & pictures & still have over 5.072 TB of unused drive space to spare. The only thing that surprises me is that the latest version of Samsung Magician doesn't recognize the 3x 2TB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS in RAID0 and refers to them as "RAID0 Volume (Unable to detect) drive not supported" but I can still run Samsung Magician performance benchmark on them in RAID0 array. Perhaps the performance will improve once MSI provides driver update to the notebooks Intel Rapid Storage Technology but either way I'm still pleased w/ these 3x 2TB 970 EVO PLUS in RAID0 array.
