Pros: + Resolution + Picture Quality + Refresh rate +/- Possibly the price Cons: - Huge amount of backlighting - Ergonomics (very uncomfortable stand) - No backlighting - Questionable design - Pseudo HDR In general, the monitor would not be bad, if not for the huge amount of backlighting. Dark scenes are impossible to watch even at medium brightness, everything is in white spots. Highlights are visible even in medium-lighted scenes. That's the only reason for the 1* rating. I think you can find a better monitor for this money.

The 144Hz refresh rate gives a smoothness to images and the 1ms response time decreases input lag for optimal gaming reactions. I have never owned a curved monitor before, but it was a surprisingly pleasant surprise. The screen is large, and the curve adds to the immersive nature of games without any distortion. You may need to adjust the colors out of the box for the best picture quality, but overall I feel that the adjustments were minimal. This monitor would be a great and affordable addition to any gaming setup.

i have sensitive eyes and have been using the product for two months. - eye saver mode doesn't work. it's very annoying as they don't have levels - i can't dim the light enough. brightness=0, still too bright even when contrast=0 - on my other brand monitor, the blue light filter can be adjusted gradually. and when i change the brightness setting i can get a really dark image. - the black level setting in the menu cannot be activated. - i should be able to adjust brightness and contrast when dynamic contrast is selected firmware is up to date 1.006 please help

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the G5 monitor for my Series X. Even though I bought the Q70T, I also bought this monitor for traveling. It's size makes it way easier to pack and travel with ( since I work outside my hometown) It is perfect with the 144 Hz refresh rate and 1440p, which honestly, doesn't look any different than 4K. FPS games look amazing on this monitor and it's response time helps me defeat other players when I play Halo: Infinite, COD, and even Fortnite. The refresh rate makes games look way smoother, and more enjoyable. For it's price, the G5 is perfect for next gen gaming, either with the Series X or PS5, this addition to your set up will make a huge difference!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The G5 line has great looking panels for the price, and while the response times aren't as good as some other kinds of gaming monitors, any issues are completely unnoticeable unless you're looking for them. I will say, I have both the 27 and 34 inch G5 monitors, and the height of the frames is off by about a quarter of an inch from each other, and performance of the panels is not really on the same level. This was a bit disappointing, as I wanted to have an exact match next to each other, but the blacks are much lighter on the 27. Other than that, both of them have been fantastic, and are definitely worth it for the price.

I work from home and spend 8 to 12 hours a day in front of this monitor. Its very stable, clear and bright and super easy on the eyes. Awhile ago, we had family in for a week and I wasn't able to get much play station time, so I moved it from my family room TV to this monitor. What a difference. My visitors are long gone, but my play station is still connected to my Samsung gaming monitor and I don't expect I'll move it back anytime soon. I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its perfect for gaming honestly, great resolution, don't have to fight with background light glare and the menu for the settings isn't so bad to manage around your preferences to optimize brightness and cotrast, my games hit the right amount of hz and the right amount of sharp text clarity. When transitioning to my laptop which would be my primary screen and the monitor being my second screen is such a smooth experience with no delay and delivers a great view with my day to day work. I can view through this monitor for hours without straining my eyesight as I've felt with other brands of monitors, overall love it!

i recently procured a new gaming pc with a rtx 3060 ti. having this new system i wanted to reap the benefits with a most modern of monitor. 1440p, high refresh rate, and hdr would be of utmost importance. with this in mind i set out across the webland exploring the the many wares and perusing the reviews. having the highest regard for samsung i was naturally drawn to their items. having settled on the 27" g5 odyssey as my choice i set at once to the checkout cart with haste. i give this product four stars for cost to performance, but it is deprived one star for the inclusion of an hdmi cable and not dp 1.4

I got this monitor purely for work and productivity, and im shocked at how well it performs! The display is huge, has crisp visuals, and plenty of menu options to dial in the monitor to suit your preferences. Definitely an upgrade from a dual monitor setup. One issue i had with the monitor however, was adjusting the tilt. It takes some decent force to get it to move and if you hold it the wrong way, you can damage it - be aware. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase and look forward to using it moving forward.

The 1000R curve is incredibly immersive; it really pulls you into games and makes everything feel more engaging. The Ultra WQHD resolution is super sharp, giving me a fantastic wide view, which is perfect for seeing more of the battlefield. The 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time make gameplay incredibly smooth and fluid, with no tearing thanks to FreeSync Premium. While the HDR isn't top-tier, the contrast on this VA panel is really good, making blacks look deep and rich. It's truly a good Monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For someone who uses the monitor for everyday use as well as gaming spending around 7+ hours a day, this has reliably fulfilled my needs for at least last 2 years and without issues. I like how bright the monitor especially as someone who sits with the window facing my monitor. From gaming to typing documents to watch movies, I have thoroughly enjoyed the monitor. I have not had any major issues this far. Connectivity has been on point. My one complaint is that the monitor seems to be leaning forward on its own stand. Would probably recommend using a monitor arm for better positioning.

Monitor is really great, curved design is really good for your eyes, colors are not oversaturated and overall experience in gaming and video-editing is better than I expected from VA panel. There is only one thing that bothers me, official specifications states that monitor supports DisplayPort 1.4, except it doesn't. I tried three different DP cables, I even checked if my GPU supports it, everything should be fine but menu in monitor doesn't show support for DP 1.4 and since there is no firmware update for this issue yet I hope that it will be fixed soon, beside that everything works.

I purchased this monitor when it first came out, and within a week of using it, the screen would constantly flicker. Send it in for repair, months later my replacement arrived. No issues with the replacement/repaired model until 11 months later, the flickering is back. It is only present when using displayport and 165hz, tested with multiple cables/video cards. HDMI is fine, its a shame really that I can't get the full performance out of the monitor. However, it is a beautiful display, the curve is fantastic and I wouldn't go back to a normal monitor, ultrawide curved for life.

i just got my new odyssey g5 monitor today and was a bit let down. 2 years ago i had bought a 32 inch cjg56 and i'm still using today with no problems and i absolutely love that monitor. when i finally plugged my odyssey g5 i was really let down, the color is super dull even after messing with color settings and color calibration, the monitor is not bright at all. the other thing is the curve, their is so much curve that it makes the monitor look smaller, my cjg56 had the perfect amount of curve. i would buy 2 more cjg56 monitors but sadly you guys don't sell them anymore. the only nice thing i can say about this monitor is the 1 ms response time, although i can't notice a difference between 4 and 1 it is nice.

For gaming, the 144 Hz, Freesync experience is second to none when paired with my mainstream AMD gaming computer. One wish, however, is having the monitor become undetected on the one input when set to the other. For example, when one monitor's set to HDMI for my work computer and two others are set to my gaming computer over DisplayPort, Windows on my gaming computer still detects three usable monitors. All in all, I enjoy my 27” G5 Odyssey Gaming Monitors.

after months of research into monitors i decided to hold out until the release of the g5 and couldn't be happier. mostly used for gaming on a pc with ryzen 5 3600 and rtx2060 super, the picture quality is perfect, the 144 hz panel is noticeably better than my old 75 hz display. in fast paced games its so smooth i can honestly say its made games more enjoyable. i was nervous about the severity of the curve but again this was a pleasant surprise, not only does it allow it to fit better on my small desk, for a monitor of this size it really helps take in the whole screen.

this is my 2nd samsung gaming monitor, and my last. the blacks smear everywhere and there is god awful ghosting. anything that moves on a dark background leaves behind a massive trail. my first samsung monitor was unusable on boot up, requiring 5+ minutes to heat up because lines appeared all over the screen. even that one didn't have this ghosting issue. this monitor takes so long to show the picture from your pc that you will miss the post screen and the buttons to access the bios. but even then, you cannot access the bios, safemode, switch boot devices, etc with this monitor because the monitor stays off. this has been reported repeatedly on samsung forums and ignored. this issue has existed since my first monitor as well

Frame rate it's definitelya good thing about this monitor, 144hz is awesome for my gaming and I love the quality of the colors of this monitor. Simply one of the best I had in my life until now. One of the bad things about this model, I would like it to have more hdmi ports, it only have one, which is better than nothing but... it could be different. Another bad thing is native speakers, simply does not have speakers. I have to buy separately the speakers bar to experience my games. That could be a deal-breaker for a lot people trying to find a good monitor out there. Overall specs is a really good monitor and it's worth the price in my opinion.

I've had the 34" Odyssey G55T WQHD 165Hz 1ms(MPRT) HDR Curved Gaming Monitor for a year now. I'm more than happy with the picture quality, videos. For me, I'm not a gamer, I use mine for work, I'll have 12 tabs open, plus the 4 programs that I utilize. Set up so I am able to get to what I want with a slight move of the wrist. My only complaint is the flimsy mounting of the stand to the screen. The screen bounces because of a poor joint alignment & It needs a beefier joint/mount, it be an easy fix. I was unable to find the VESA bracket to fit this model.

I came upon the Odyssey G5 34' and ordered it. This is an amazing display and it is not only vibrant but it has a super quick response time and the wide screen makes you feel like you're one with the game that you're playing. I use it primarily for racing games and have used it for fps games as well and this monitor does not disappoint. I hope they included the speakers in built but that's no worries since the laptop has good songs and they provide a sound output through the monitor. I would 10/10 recommend this monitor to anyone who is looking for a great display and it's confused between 34/32' curved or wide displays.

Setup with Nvidia's surround' physX gives me an awesome 7680x1440 viewing area for my games. Every time someone comes over for the first time their jaw hits the floor. Living within proximity to NASA I'm always told "you can run the space station from here", my reply is always the same, "I doubt that but maybe a small satellite. About six months of ownership so I'm watching for issues others have noted after one year. Image quality/color are excellent. But the multi-function button that includes power is funky. If you don't get it into power-down mode before you shut down you have wait for it to come back illuminated to power it down. Powering up from sleep is weird, but different. Just a design flaw in the UI.

i've only owned the g5 for a few days, and the monitor itself has been a fantastic experience. my only concern is the plastic stand it comes with feels flimsy and is not adjustable so the monitor ends up being aimed at my chest instead of my face, especially since the stand dips slightly from the weight of the monitor. i'm not too worried that the stand will not hold up, it's just disappointing that this is the worst stand i've gotten from the 6 samsung screens i've purchased in the past decade, of which i still use 5.

ive run through a few monitors in my days. acer. hp. and they all had problems woth dead pixels and coloring. this g5 is amazing. i use it with my razer laptop for gaming, school, and work. it has met all my needs. i have mever had any screen tearing. you should only buy monitors by companies that actually make their display pannels and smasung is one of them. finding the right coloring is a difficult task just like on any monitor. but im sure youll find. just got to take the time. 10/10. love this monitor.

Started out thinking I bought a great monitor. Not so. Monitor doesn't always connect to computer when it boots up. It will lose connectivity and go black and not reconnect to the computer until I have unplugged cables and reconnected them. I have searched for firmware updates to see if any of these items could be resolved but no luck. There is firmware for the other monitors in the group but not the 34". Save your money go buy a different monitor. Used to be a Samsung fan but not so much after this.

I have two of these side by side and the games look super smooth thanks to the fast refresh rate. It feels like you’re actually in the game with how curved and wide the screen is. Multitasking is way easier as well. I can keep my chat, web browser, and a bunch of documents open all at once and still have room to spare. i got my monitor way earlier than i expected and it was on a sunday which is crazy. i think the design is interesting and the curve is not that notice able when looking straight at it. i bought this so that i'm ready for the xbox series x/s for the 120 fps. right now i'm using my xbox one x at 1440p and 120fps, but honestly there aren't any xbox one games that go above 60 fps. another thing is that there's no fps counter. compared to other monitors with similar specs this could be best in terms of price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Primarily used for gaming but as a day trader I found that the nice tight curve actually helps me spot trades quickly by being to see the entire screen (with 2 or sometimes even 3 chart windows) without too much eye movement. Compared to a wider flat monitor or 2 separate monitors, the difference is astronomical. That may be all in my head but I can’t argue with results. Now for the unfortunate news, a few feet directly over my monitor was a shelf with, evidently, too much of a load on it. It came down with a vengeance one night while I slept, knocked the monitor to the floor, obviously cracking the screen in the process. I couldn’t remove a star for that as I have yet to find a monitor that would handle such a situation without damage. Currently budgeting a save fund for a new one.

the monitor is a great monitor for what it is... for a short amount of time. i have owned this for maybe a year and it's lifespan is already showing the end is near. the entire bottom half has dark spots even though it's never touched or bumped and sits comfortably on my desk. the middle also has a random line about an inch in a half thick like previous poor reviews that is starting to go out sporadically. truly disappointing to invest in something and have it last just about a year.

I have no regrets in switching. I am able to have similar screen real estate without it taking up a lot of desk space. It's also so light that if I ever need to move it, I can do it easily. Only downsize was that it was hard to put the stand together with the monitor. You really have to put a bit of force into it in order for the clasps to fit in and stay in.

The picture has a little to be desired when it comes to the hdr brightness but it is beautiful. The extreme curvature of the screen really makes the monitor feel almost projected around you. The only gripe I really have is the stand. The legs are long and awkwardly pointy while the movement is limited to just a tiny degree of tilt with no vertical movement. Other than that very solid and would recommend.

the monitor is very fast and responsive to inputs however if you are interested in this monitor you should know two things. 1. the vertical (and to some extent horizontal) viewing angles are not the best, even if you are off a few degrees you will notice some 'greying' of the colors. 2. the color out of the box was very bad and it took me changing settings in windows, the monitor, and my gpu settings to get something pleasant. apart from that, it's a very good monitor for the price.

The color contrast, 144hz display and built in crosshairs option are some of the little things I appreciate about this product. The button to navigate the settings is genuine and simple which I love. Lol all jokes aside I've read reviews of this monitor and some people complained about dead pixels but I've personally owned this monitor for almost 3 years and it has never presented any type of issue and I use it almost 16 hours out of the day every day. If you're looking for a monitor to suit your gaming/ entertainment needs.. this is the best budget gaming monitor on the market HANDS DOWN. Because I work mostly on tables, graph and data the most important features for me are the letters extremely clear meaning the letters aren't blurred at all , lines don't disappear when using excel and the colors are exact. Not only does the high refresh rate highly complement any game but the resolution is also quite impressive. This monitor started as a 5 out of 5 for me but sadly with time it has grown to be closer to a 4 out of 5. The reasoning behind my decision is that this monitor has quite an interesting stand included. The stand looks like just two pieces of plastic attached to the bottom of the monitor and they are comicially small for the size of the monitor. This was an easy fix though with the VESA capabilities allowing me to easily mount my monitor onto my desk as to prevent the wobbling from the stand. Overall I would recommened this montitor to anyone looking for a curved display and hope that they would soon love theirs as much as I loved mine for the years of use I have put into the monitor.

I bought this a month ago and it has been a horrible experience!! I don't know what is wrong with this monitor, but it makes make my eyes BURN and watery, I can't look at it for more than 5 min!! I tried ALL the settings you can think of - but no avail and I'm stuck with this monitor now as Staples return police is only 14 days and now I don't know what to do!!! This is the WORST monitor I have ever used, and I never had issue with other monitors.

I set up my system so that it seamlessly transfers from a gaming computer to a stock trading platform to web browsing. great monitor. nearly all of the time. it is very good, very large, and a great value for the money. the only cons i have with it are the little bit of backlight bleed, and this weird issue where sometimes it doesn't wake from sleep. but that could be due to the fact that i have two computers (a pc and mac) running into it at the same time and commonly switch inputs. also the stand isn't great, but it's fine. it is vesa mountable.

The curved screen does seem to help with reflections, however this is not really an issue with its bright screen. The only complaint is how dim hdr is. As long as you are not using HDR, this display has no issues with anything you can throw at it. Using display port through pc is much better at handling frame rates. This is not included. Get one. If you have a large desk, get 2.

I've had this for four or so months now and am very happy with its performance for the price. I would definitely recommend getting an adjustable arm if you like to adjust the position of your monitor; the stock stand has very limited mobility. When deciding on this display I put little stock in its adaptive frame sync, HDR, and high refresh rate but have since come to really appreciate these features.

i guess i am having a hard time understand the crap reviews. i bought two of them and they are both stunning. you take 20 minutes to do some tuning (like any other monitor) and get it to how you like it. for the price im having a hard time understanding the complaint. the dead pixels i understand but anything else, nah does not add up. great monitor by the best company and for a great price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this monitor at work. I consistently have multiple screens open and the Win11 multi-split windows options work amazingly well. The screen real estate is perfect for having three separate apps or windows open at once, so comparing data across spreadsheets, and transcribing from different sources for training development and planning is a breeze. With videoconferencing it's also extremely useful to have the video app, slide deck, and chat windows readily available. I pair it with a ultra wide flat monitor in portrait view which I use for long documents and websites. This combo is fed from my laptop which I keep the lid closed since my Odyssey gives me all the screen I need. This monitor effectively replaces two, or three individual monitors! I'm ok with it not having speakers since my other monitor does, but I do sometimes wish I could rotate it to portrait, but not often enough to care.

After two-week, 16-18 hours per day of working experience.. This display make significant difference. Pros: eyes friendly (#1), curve, vivid and brightness, control, "hidden" vertical connectors, lightweight, overall design. Cons: having bays for speakers without speakers is quite frustrating. My next choice would be all the same, plus audio-speakers (via HDMI) and size about 42"-44".

I have bought the samsung g7 32'' and this one, let me tell you this, yes the g7 is brighter and more crisp, but for the price this 34'' 165hz monitor is absolutly amazing! Super blazing fast, fast respond time, input lag is good. Once calibrated the colors are amazing. I prefer to play on this monitor rather than the g7. One con would be the stand, really basic and cheap!

i love the monitor. the picture is clean and bright and all of my games look amazing on it. however, the stand this monitor comes with is a joke. it's short, kinda flexible plastic and has 0 adjustability. it's short enough that with my chair as low as it can go and me being 5ft9in i still had to put a 4in pedestal under it so i didn't have to sink in my chair to use it.

huge upgrade from my 24" 4k lg it definitely took me a while to get used to the curved display and how tall it is. i was hoping it was wider but that's my fault for not actually reading the specs. it's fast and clear, i love it so far. the only thing i wasn't a fan of was the stand, it's pretty much non-adjustable. can't complain considering what you get for the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ultrawide 34” had well documented flickering issues, none of which were able to be solved due to non-existent firmware updates. My original monitor also came with a pixel smudge/dead pixels. Thankfully, Samsung’s warranty process worked fairly seamlessly and they were able to replace the screen/monitor under warranty. The replacement monitor was perfectly fine, no dead pixels and no flickering. The older monitor and new one did have two different sized/wattage power bricks, a bit odd considering they were the same model. I love Samsung products so this doesn’t deter me from purchasing more TV’s and monitors from them in the future. But I’m certainly opting for OLED, even a smaller one if I want a monitor that isn’t ultrawide. Hope they come out with a 4K/5K ultrawide in the future, paying so much for an ultrawide 1440p just isn’t worth it these days, I’d rather get the 40” 4K IPS from LG for the same price range.

Immersive experiences because of the curved screen along with range of view improvements with reduced glare from the curved surface. Refresh rate appears deceptively slow as it is rated at 60hz but is never outpaced by even the most challenging of games or programs. This was a "splurge purchase" and one I do not regret!

However, I wish there was an easier way to switch between inputs as my work pc and gaming pc are connected differently. I use the button anytime I switch between them and that's fine. Can crank the brightness down and still keep the color quality or turn it wayyyyy up and singe your eyeballs if you really wanted to. Lightweight so most non-garbage monitor arms work well with it, easy to set up, looks stunning, and the PERFECT curve. It's wowed everyone that's seen it. 10/10.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use my monitor mainly for gaming and productivity work with 2 others, it's a lovely curved large screen with decent colors for a gaming monitor and nice refresh rates. My issue with it is that it times out very quick for detecting a display input making me have to scroll the osd until it picks up the input which could be a simple firmware fix. Overall 8/10

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as a Fathers day Gift, replacing a Vizio 32 inch TV as a monitor. It is like comparing night and day. 1440 over 1080 is a great gain in screen real-estate, the fast refresh is amazing, and the colors are vibrant with little adjustment right out of the box. Very satisfied with my new gift, will neve go back to using a TV as a monitor!

It is a nice monitor, but has an engineering defect. After about 7 month of usage the screen is getting of the frame. This is a commune issue and the customer support is dogging the fact that Samsung has a manufacture defect. You can search online and see that there are thousands of customers with exact same issue in exact same spot. Don't buy it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love that Samsung Odyssey G5. Has free sync available which is amazing. Makes my gaming experience that much more enjoyable. Gaming with the monitor definitely is easy on the eyes. Perfect for first person shooter comes with a built-in redical. Quality build of monitor feels great. I think without a doubt. I got my money's worth.

This monitor was recommended by a sales associate who uses one with his Mini. I'm not savvy enough to get this set up properly to take advantage of what it's meant to do. While the picture is beautiful for basic computer operations I probably bit off more than I needed.

i purchased two of these and received them in excellent condition. however, after only a couple weeks the joystick on one of them stopped responding to 'up' which is necessary to access the menu. clearly there is something wrong with this component if it breaks after such minimal use, i probably navigated the menu only 4-5 times total.
