Galaxy J3 - Using Smart Switch

Alert: Smart Switch Mobile only partially supports iCloud® backups made using iOS9. If you created a backup using iOS9, you will be able to transfer your Contacts, Calendar, Photos, and Videos only. To transfer your remaining content, please connect to your old device using an OTG cable or Smart Switch for PC/Mac.

Smart Switch Mobile App

Find Smart Switch Mobile on Google Play™ store, and install the app on your new Samsung Galaxy device. If you're transferring content from another Android™ device, you must also install the app on the old device. If you're transferring content from an iOS®device, the app must be installed only on the Android device.

 

Follow these steps to install the Smart Switch Mobile app:

1 Go to Google Play store.
2 Tap Search Icon at the top of the screen, and enter "Smart Switch Mobile" in the search field. It may be necessary to tap Search Icon on the keyboard to perform a search.
3 Tap Samsung Smart Switch Mobile in the search results.
4 Tap INSTALL. If you already have an older version of Smart Switch installed, tap UPDATE.
5 Tap ACCEPT to continue with the installation.
6 Once the installation is complete, if you want to open the app immediately, tap OPEN. To open the app at any time, tap Apps > Smart Switch Mobile
7 The first time you open the app, an end user license agreement appears. Mark the checkbox to agree to the terms and conditions, and then tap NEXT.

8 The main screen appears, allowing you to choose between iOS or Android devices.

Note: Smart Switch Mobile must be installed on both the old and new devices (Android only).

When transferring iOS content, the content is “pulled” from iCloud® using the app on the new device (“Import from iCloud”).

 

When transferring Android device content, the content is “pushed” from the old device to the new device (“Android to Galaxy”).
