Galaxy Note8: How do I stop auto rotate screen on my Samsung Galaxy Note8 (SM-N950W)?
When switching between viewing a panoramic photo or reading a listicle, the Note8 has a built-in feature that automatically rotates your screen to adjust to your needs. Auto Rotate uses an internal sensor to detect which way your phone is rotating and then adjusts your screen accordingly. The feature is turned on by default but can be adjusted at any time, if you wish.
Note: Screens and settings available may vary depending on your Canadian wireless service provider and your software version.
Stop Auto Rotate
Note: OK, sometimes you just want to get a better look at that photo without your phone tilting. No worries. While Auto Rotate is enabled by default, you can always turn it off.
1. To open the Quick Settings panel, using two fingers, swipe down from the top of the screen.
2. To turn off the rotation, touch Auto rotate.
Note: Swipe left if the icon is not present on the first panel. Quick Settings can hold up to 2 panels.
Important: Depending on the screen orientation when touching Auto rotate, the icon changes the screen to either Landscape or Portrait.
