Battery Monitor App

Your device has an application that lets you see which applications and features use the most battery power on your device.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps 1 .

2. Touch Settings2 .

3. Touch Battery 3 .

4. Touch an application or feature in the list to view additional information and access its settings. When you view             additional information for certain applications, touch Force stop to close the application.

Reducing Battery Consumption

Your device provides options that help you conserve battery power. By customizing these options and deactivating features in the background, you can use the device longer between charges:

    • Close unnecessary applications with the Task manager.
    • Discontinue use of Live wallpapers.
    • Turn off the Bluetooth® feature.
    • Turn off the Wi-Fi® feature.
    • Turn off the GPS service.
    • Turn off the mobile data connection.
    • Turn off auto-syncing of accounts.
    • Decrease the backlight time (timeout settings).
    • Decrease the brightness of the display, or use Automatic brightness.
    • Turn off haptic feedback.

Best Practices for Battery Charging

The following guidelines can help you charge your battery properly and safely.

    • Verify you are using the supplied USB/charging cable and not third-party accessories.
    • Ensure the USB/charging cable is connected securely and is not being blocked by a cover or case.
    • Check to see whether a battery or charging indicator appears on the device's display when the USB/charging cable is       plugged in.
    • Charge using a wall outlet, not a computer, for best results.
    • When the battery is fully charged, disconnect the device from the USB/charging cable

Power Saving Modes

Your device comes with a power-saving application that can assist in reduced battery usage.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps 4 .

2. Touch Settings 5 .

3. Touch Power saving 6 .

4. Touch Power saving mode.

5. Touch the slider 7 to turn Power saving mode on 8 .

6. Select from the options below:

    • Block background data: Reduce background data usage to conserve battery power. Some applications will still  

      use the data connection.
    • Restrict performance: Touch the slider 9 to turn Restrict performance on 10. Place a check mark 

      next to the functions you want to turn on to restrict performance.
        ◦ CPU performance: Limit the maximum performance of the CPU to conserve battery power.
        ◦ Screen output: Use a lower frame rate and power level for your device's screen.
        ◦ Turn off touch key light: The Recent Apps and Back buttons on the front of your device will not light up when

           they are touched or the Home key is pressed.
        ◦ Turn off GPS: Disable location services and GPS functions while in Power saving mode.
    • Grayscale mode: Convert color screens to battery-friendly grayscale. Touch the slider 11 to turn Grayscale

      mode on 12.

Ultra Power Saving Mode

Ultra power saving mode offers extended battery conservation by limiting application access and adjusting the screen to grayscale.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps 13 .

2. Touch Settings 14 .

3. Touch Power saving 15 .

4. Touch Ultra power saving mode.

5. Touch the slider 16 to turn Ultra power saving mode on 17 .
