Printing


Samsung Print Service, available as a menu option within some applications, enables you to print photos, webpages, and documents directly from your device to a printer on the same Wi-Fi® network.

Samsung Print Service Plug-In


Note: Plug-in is integrated into operating system and cannot be uninstalled or moved to SD card.

The Samsung Print Service Plug-In provides native printing support on Android devices.The plug-in enables printing to many Samsung laser printers, and MFPs without the need for third party apps or additional print drivers.

    • Samsung Galaxy Devices - Samsung Print Service plug-in is pre-installed app on selected Samsung's Android OS smart phones and tablets (see compatibility list below).

    • Android KitKat(4.4) Devices- Samsung Print Service plug-in extends Android's printing feature in Android 4.4(Kitkat) to support printing on Samsung Printers.

If your device is not listed below, this plug-in is not compatible with your device at this time. If your Android OS device does not have printing functionality built‐in to the OS, please download Samsung Mobile Print app from the Google Play store to enable easy printing to Samsung printers.


Compatibility List

    • Samsung Android devices having Android version 4.2 and above.

    • All other devices running Android version 4.4 and above.

Print Settings


Before you can print from your device, print service must be turned ON.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Icon_Apps_8_3.png > Settings Icon_Settings_2_2.png.

2. Touch More connection settings1_1.jpg > Printing.

3. Touch Samsung Print Service Plugin or touch icon_add.png Download plug-in to download and install other available print service plug-in from Google Play Store.

4. Touch the Icon_Slider_OFF_2_3.png slider to turn Samsung Print Service PluginIcon_Slider_ON_2_3.png.

5. Device searches and display nearby compatible printers available on the same Wi-Fi Network.  Select the printer you want to use.

Add a Printer Manually


You will need to know the IP address of the printer; consult the printer’s documentation for this information.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Icon_Apps_8_3.png > Settings Icon_Settings_2_2.png.

2. Touch More connection settings1_1.jpg > Printing.

3. Touch Samsung Print Service Plugin. The service must be ON to add a printer.

4. Touch MORE Add printer.

5. Touch ADD PRINTER, and then enter a name and the IP address of the printer.

Configure Printing Options

Choose printing options for your printer from your device.

Note: Below settings are examples only. Available settings will differ depending on the type of print service and printer you are using.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Icon_Apps_8_3.png > Settings Icon_Settings_2_2.png.

2. Touch More connection settings1_1.jpg > Printing.

3. Touch Samsung Print Service Plugin. The service must be ON to add a printer.

4. Touch MORE > Printing settings to configure options. Available options may vary depending on the type of printer, and not all printers support all options.

Following options are available:

    • Double sided printing: Choose Simplex to print one page per piece of paper, or choose Long edge or Short edge to print on both sides. Short edge and Long edge refer to how the pages flip when moving through multiple pages.

    • Secure Release: If the optional printer supports secure release, and it is enabled, you must enter a User ID to retrieve your printouts. Tap Secure release, and then enter a User ID.

    • Confidential Print: If the optional printer supports confidential printing, and it is enabled, you must enter a User ID and Password to retrieve your printouts. Tap Confidential Print, and then enter a User ID and Password.

    • Job Accounting: If the optional printer supports job accounting, and it is enabled, you must enter a User ID and Password when printing, to track printing by group or other set.

    • Version: View the version of the print service software.

    • Open source licenses: View licenses related to the print service software.
    • Share data: Checkmark checked.png to Share data with Samsung services.

Print Directly From Your Device


Printing a Photo

1. Open Gallery icon_gallery2_1.png > Select an image you want to print.

2. Touch Share Icon_Screenshot_Share.png.

4. The default printer is set to Save as PDF, touch icon_dropdown.png in the top right corner, to view and select the available printer(s) on the device.

5. Touch the drop down menu slide_down_icon.png and select the page settings.

    • Copies: Select the number of of copies.
    • Paper size: Select the paper size.
    • Color: Choose from Black & White or Color.
    • Orientation: Choose from Portrait or Landscape.
    • Pages: Select which page(s) to print or ALL.

6. Touch Print Icon_printer.png to print the image.

Printing an E-mail Document


1. Open E-mail icon_mail.png > Select an e-mail you want to print.

2. Touch MORE > Print.

3. The default printer is set to Save as PDF, touch icon_dropdown.png in the top right corner, to view and select the available printer(s) on the device.

1. Open Chromeicon_chrome.png > Select the web page you want to print.
