Windows Defender
Windows Defender is malware protection that is included with Windows 10. This software helps identify and remove viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. Windows Defender runs in the background and notifies you when you need to take a specific action. However, you can use it anytime to scan for malware if your computer isn’t working properly or if you clicked on a suspicious link online or in an email message.
When you start up Windows 10 for the first time, Windows Defender is on and working to protect your PC by scanning for malicious software. It will turn itself off if you install another antivirus app. Windows Defender is enough for most users but it can be useful to use another anti-virus if you work with sensitive data or if you have children and they use your computer.

Turn On/Off Real-time Protection
Windows Defender uses real-time protection to scan everything you download or run on your PC. To turn off or on real-time protection temporarily, follow the steps below:

5. Switch Off/On Real-time protection.

Scan Device Manually

5. Scroll down and select Open Windows Defender.

6. Select Scan now to start a manual scan of all the files on your computer.
