Smart Battery Calibration


If the battery is charged or discharged repeatedly over a short period, the actual battery power and the detected remaining battery power may be different. Performing a battery calibration will discharge the battery completely to ensure more accurate battery level detection.

Warning: The battery calculation will take three to five hours. The time may differ depending on the remaining battery level.

Note: Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Running Smart Battery Calibration


1. If the charger is connected, disconnect it from the device.

2. From your Home screen, select the Start menu Windows icon.

3. Select Windows Power.

4. Select Shut down.

5. Press and hold the F2 button then press the Power button to restart the system. Do not release the F2 button until the BIOS screen display.

6. On the BIOS screen, select Advanced.

7. Select Smart Battery Calibration.

Warning: The battery calculation will take three to five hours. The time may differ depending on the remaining battery level.

8. The battery calibration will start and the battery will be discharged. To stop the calibration, press the Esc key.
