Galaxy Watch - Messages on Your Watch (SM-R800 & SM-R810)

With a smart watch, it's never been easier to talk while you walk. You can quickly and easily view incoming messages on your watch, and you won't even need to take out your phone. It's perfect for when you are out and about. You can also manage your notifications so that you only see important updates that matter to you.

Available screens and settings may vary by provider, phone, or watch.

If you want to take a break from your jog and send a quick message to a friend, you can do that quickly and easily on your watch. Just navigate to and touch the message you want to reply to. Then, swipe to and touch a Quick message as a response.

Reply to a Message

If you prefer to create your own response, there are many methods to choose from:

   • Speaker: Create a response by speaking to your watch and then touch SEND.

   • Emoji: Select an emoji as your response.

   • Text: Edit your response by writing letters into the watch face. Written letters will be converted into text.

   • Edit responses: Create or edit Quick messages by writing letters into the watch face. Written letters will be converted into text.

   • Doodle: Edit your own response by writing letters into the watch face. Written letters will be sent as an image.

Are you always getting texts or calls while you’re out walking your dog? Let your contacts know that you’ll get back to them soon by setting up Quick Messages on your watch. On your watch, either create a new message or touch an existing message, and then swipe to and touch Edit responses.

To create a new Quick message, touch Create, create a message, and then touch Done.

To edit an existing Quick message, touch the message, make the desired changes, and then touch Done.

Call-Decline MessagesClick to Expand

Somtimes, you receive a phone call at the worst possible time and can't pick up. With your watch, you can let them know you're busy with a quick swipe.

When receiving a call on your watch, swipe up from the bottom of the watch face. Several replies, such as "I can't talk right now" will appear. Touch the message you would like to decline the call with.
