Last Update Date : Apr 09. 2018

Heart Rate

Measure your heart rate with the heart rate monitor sensor located on the back of your Gear S2. Record heart rate levels before, during, and after exercise. Heart rate information is stored in the S Health application.

Note: The screens and steps shown below may vary by wireless service provider and your mobile device.

Warning: The Heart Rate features are intended for leisure, well-being, and fitness purposes only and are not intended for medical use. Before using these features, read the instructions carefully.

For Best Results

To measure your heart rate more accurately with the Gear S2:

1

• Wear the Gear S2 firmly around your lower arm, just above the wrist. Do not fasten the Gear S2 too tightly or too loosely. If you have thin wrists, wearing the Gear S2 too loosely may cause light to reflect unevenly and result in an inaccurate measurement.

• Be seated and relaxed, and stay still while taking resting heart rate measurements. Do not talk, yawn, or change your breathing, as these behaviors may skew your results.

• Smoking or consuming alcohol before taking measurements may cause your heart rate to be different than it is normally.

If the heart rate sensor on the back of the Gear S2 is dirty, wipe the sensor with a clean, soft cloth. • Body hair, dirt, and other obstructions can interfere with the operation of the sensor.
