Gear S3 Frontier: How do I remotely lock or wipe my Samsung Gear S3 Frontier (SM-R760)?

If your Gear S3 is ever lost, misplaced, or stolen, you can lock your Gear S3 to prevent it from being accessed, or reset it, which will remove all data, including all of your personal information.

Note: The provided information refers to the devices sold in Canada. The screens and steps shown below may vary by wireless service provider and your mobile device.

Remotely lock your Gear S3


1. From the Home screen of your mobile device, touch Apps.

2. Touch Samsung Gear.

Note: The Samsung Gear app may be located in the Samsung folder by default on some devices.

3. Touch the SETTINGS tab.

4. Touch Find My Gear.

5. Touch Control remotely.

6. Touch the slider to turn on Control remotely, and then touch ENABLE (if required).

7. Touch Lock Gear.

8. Touch LOCK to lock your Gear S3.

9. If you find your Gear S3, repeat the steps above and select Unlock Gear to unlock it.

Remotely reset your Gear S3


1. From the Home screen of your mobile device, touch Apps.

2. Touch Samsung Gear.

Note: The Samsung Gear app may be located in the Samsung folder by default on some devices.

3. Touch the SETTINGS tab.

5. Touch Control remotely.

6. Touch the slider to turn on Control remotely, and then touch ENABLE (if required).

7. Touch Reset Gear.

8. Touch RESET to confirm your decision.

Warning: Your personal information cannot be recovered after using this feature. Please back up any information you need using the Samsung Gear app on your mobile device prior to using this feature.

9. If you activated Reactivation lock previously, you will be asked to enter the password for your Samsung account and touch CONFIRM. In that case, you will need to connect the Gear S3 to the same device or use the same Samsung account, if you want to use a different device.
