Where are my photos and videos stored on my Galaxy Tab E LTE? How can I move them?

Media Storage


The application My Files lets you access files stored on your device, including images, videos, songs, and sound clips. By default, your captured pictures and videos are stored on your device's internal memory. If you have installed a MicroSD card, you can save room on your device by moving pictures, videos, and other files to your MicroSD card.

Note: Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

View files in My Files


1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .

2. Touch My Files .

3. Touch a category to view the relevant files or folders. For this example, we selected Images .

Recent files: View recently accessed files.

Device storage: View folders and files located on the device.

SD card: View folders and files located on an optional microSD memory card (not included).

Download history: View all multimedia files that have been downloaded to the device.

Documents: View all document files stored on your mobile device or your SD card.

My Files 6
Images: View all image files stored on your mobile device or your SD card.

Audio: View all audio files stored on your mobile device or your SD card.

Videos: View all video files stored on your mobile device or your SD card.

Google Drive: Sign in to view folders and files located in your Google Drive account.



4. Touch a file or folder to open it.

5. If prompted, select an app to open the file type to view.

Move files to a MicroSD card


You can save room on your device by moving pictures, videos, and other files to your MicroSD card (not included).

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .

2. Touch My Files .

3. Touch Device storage .

4. Open the folder containing the pictures you want to move by touching it on the right panel. Use the table above to help you find where your media is stored:

5. Touch and hold a picture you want to move, and then mark the checkboxes checkbox, by touching them, for additional pictures.

6. Touch MORE (top right corner).

Note: If you move the pictures, they will deleted from their original location and available at their new location. If you copy pictures, they will be available at both original and new locations (so they will be duplicated).

8. You might have to touch the arrow up icon arrow up to close the file tree and see the available options on the left panel.

9. Touch SD card.

10. Select a folder and touch DONE to move the files in an existing folder. Touch Create folder to place files in a new folder.

11. Enter a name for the new folder and touch CREATE.

12. Touch DONE to move the files in the newly created folder.

Note: Touch Create folder to create a sub-folder.

Copy a folder from the MicroSD card to the device storage


1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .

2. Touch My Files .

3. Touch SD card .

4. Touch and hold a folder to select it.

Note: Touch a checkbox checkbox to add the corresponding folder to the selection.

5. Touch MORE (top right corner).

7. Touch Copy.

8. Touch Create folder to copy the folder in a new folder (as a sub-folder) or touch a folder to copy it in an existing folder.

12. Touch DONE to copy the folder in the selected location.

Change default save location just after inserting a MicroSD card in your device


Note: This pop-up window will only appear the first time you use the Camera app after inserting a MicroSD card (not included) into your Galaxy Tab E LTE.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .

2. Touch Camera .

3. Touch the OK to set your MicroSD card as the default storage location for the pictures or the videos taken with the Camera app.

Note: Touch CANCEL and your device will be used as the default storage location.

Change default save location at anytime


Note: Videos and pictures taken using certain camera modes will be saved to the device regardless of the storage location setting.
