No soundbar audio when using eARC on my Samsung TV

If you are having issues connecting to the eARC format, or if you are not receiving any sound when using eARC, there are a few things you can check. For example, make sure you are using an eARC-compatible HDMI cable, such as an HEAC or HEC cable.

Note: The information provided applies to TVs and soundbars sold in Canada. Available screens and settings may vary for TVs and soundbars sold in other countries.

To begin troubleshooting, it is easiest to start from scratch. Disconnect all HDMI devices and turn on only the TV and soundbar. After the issue is resolved, you can reconnect and turn on any other devices.

1 Using an eARC-compatible HDMI cable, connect to the ARC ports on the TV and soundbar. After a moment, the TV will detect the soundbar.

2 Once the soundbar is detected, enable the proper settings on the TV by navigating to Sound, and then selecting Expert Settings.
3 Finally, enable both HDMI eARC mode and Dolby Atmos.
4 If you are still having issues, you can try updating the software on your TV. It’s also a good idea to update the firmware on your soundbar.
5 It is exceptionally rare that this issue cannot be resolved through the previous steps. However, if you are certain that some kind of defect is occurring, visit our Support Centre to request service.
