What Is Soft AP?

Soft Access Point (AP)

Soft AP(Soft Access Point) allows you to establish a wireless network with your player which can then be used by your Wi-Fi enabled devices to access the internet. In other words, when Soft AP is enabled, your player becomes an access point which can be used by other devices to access the internet.

How to Setup Soft AP

Follow the steps below to setup Soft Ap on your player.

1 Power on your player and wait for the Home Menu to display.
2 Using the right or left arrow buttons on your BD remote move to Settings and then press enter.
3 Using the top or bottom arrow buttons on your BD remote move to Network and then press enter.
4 Using the top or bottom arrow buttons on your BD remote move to Soft AP and then press enter.
5 Using the top or bottom arrow buttons on your BD remote move to ON and then press enter.
6 The Security Key is now displayed. You can either keep the generated key or you can highlight the Security Key field and select your own. Be sure to write down the Security Key. The network name (SSID) is listed on the right hand side of the Soft AP settings.
7 Power on the device you want to connect and enable its Wi-Fi feature. Locate the Wi-Fi Soft AP settings on your device and then search for the newly established network. Look for the network name displayed on your Blu-ray player, step 6.
8 Select the Direct BD network name for your player and then enter the Security Key established in step 6.
