Galaxy Buds not playing audio on Galaxy laptop

A pair of Galaxy Buds in their case beside a Samsung Galaxy laptop on a table.

If you can't hear any audio from your Galaxy Buds when they’re paired with your laptop, you'll need to make sure that all the audio-related settings are correct, and that your Buds’ battery is charged. Follow the steps below for more information:

Make sure Bluetooth is turned on for both the PC and your Buds, and that they have been paired.

To set your Buds as the output device, perform the following steps:

1 On Windows 10, right-click the Sound icon in the taskbar > Select the name of the Buds to ensure they are connected
Sound output device display.
2 On Windows 11, right-click the Sound icon in the taskbar > Select Sound settings > Select Choose where to play sound to confirm the Buds are connected

By default, the only audio output devices listed are the ones that are enabled. If your Buds aren't listed, they may be disabled, which could explain why they’re not working. To check if your Buds are listed as disabled, perform the following steps:

1 On Windows 10, right-click the Sound icon in the taskbar > Select Sound settings > Select Manage sound devices. If the headset is listed in the disabled section, select it and select Enable
2 On Windows 11, right-click the Sound icon in the taskbar > Select Sound settings > Select All sound devices. If the headset is listed in the disabled section, select it and select Enable
“Sound” menu with “Sound settings” highlighted.

If you can select your Buds but still can’t hear anything, increase the volume.

1 First, try using the volume controls on the Buds
2 If you still can’t hear anything, left click the Sound icon in the taskbar > Use the slider to adjust the volume
3 On Windows 11, you will need to adjust the Volume slider in Sound settings. Make sure to select a volume above 0, which is muted

Uninstall any audio or Bluetooth drivers that are currently in use and then restart the PC.

After Windows reboots, look for drivers from Windows Update and Samsung Update.

If your Buds are showing in the list but still does not work correctly, perform the following steps:

1 On Windows 10, right-click the Sound icon in the taskbar > Select Sound Settings > Select Troubleshoot. Follow the on-screen instructions
2 On Windows 11, right-click the Sound icon in the taskbar > Select Sound settings > Select Output devices next to “Troubleshoot common sound problems”. Follow the on-screen instructions
“Advanced” screen with “Output devices” highlighted.
