Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet will not turn on

Restart your Galaxy device

Your phone may be frozen due to a temporary software issue.

 

Press and hold the Power (Side) button and the Volume Down button at the same time for at least 7 seconds. The phone will restart, and when the Samsung logo appears and the device vibrates, release the buttons.

  • If the buttons are not pressed at the same time, the volume bar or power menu may appear.
  • Remove your case if it prevents pressing both buttons properly.

Charge your device with a Samsung-certified charger if the battery may be fully discharged

The battery may be fully discharged. Connect a Samsung-certified charger and cable.

  • If the battery is completely drained, the charging indicator (lightning icon) may not appear on the screen.
  • Even if nothing appears on the screen, continue charging the device.

Use only Samsung-approved chargers and cables. Do not use any worn or damaged chargers or cables. Incompatible charger or cable can cause serious injuries or damage to your device.
