What to do when a Samsung Galaxy Watch app appears to crash, freeze, or not respond

If an app on your Samsung Galaxy Watch appears to crash, freeze, or not respond, the steps provided below can help effectively resolve the issue. Follow the instructions to help ensure your watch functions properly again.

If your Galaxy Watch apps are not working properly, restarting your device or updating the software to the latest version can help resolve the issue.

Step 1. Press and hold both buttons on your Galaxy Watch until the screen displays the Samsung logo.

Step 2. When the reboot is complete, swipe up and open Settings > Tap Software update.

Step 3. Tap Download and install.

* Turn on Auto update to automatically install future Galaxy Watch updates.

* The watch will notify you if it is up to date.

Apps can be removed from your Galaxy Watch by accessing the Wearable app on the phone connected to your watch, or you can use your watch directly.

Use the connected phone to uninstall apps

* Before starting, make sure your phone and Galaxy Watch are connected.

Step 1. Open the Wearable app on your phone > Tap on the Watch settings icon on the navigation bar.

Step 2. Tap Apps > Tap the app you wish to uninstall.

Step 3. Tap the Uninstall icon > Select Uninstall in the pop up window.

* If you do not see the uninstall icon, the app cannot be removed.

Use your Samsung Galaxy Watch to uninstall apps

Step 1. From the Apps screen, touch and hold the icon of the app you wish to uninstall > Tap Uninstall on the pop-up window.

Step 2. Tap OK.

A factory reset may be necessary if your Galaxy Watch is not responding. A factory reset on Samsung Galaxy Watch will erase your data on the Watch. Make sure to back up your data using the Wearable app before performing a reset so the data can be reloaded to your watch after the reset is complete. Samsung is not responsible for any lost data.

Step 1. From your Galaxy Watch’s home screen, swipe up and open Settings > Select General.

Step 2. Select Reset.

Step 3. Review on screen information > Tap Reset.

* Once the factory reset is complete, reconnect your Galaxy Watch to your phone and choose whether to restore your watch’s data or set it up with the default settings.
