Adjusting the Samsung Music Frame volume with a TV remote control

When the Samsung Music Frame is connected to a compatible TV, you can use the TV's remote control to adjust the speaker's volume directly. This means you don't need a separate remote or app, allowing seamless, unified control just like a built-in TV speakers. Find out how with the below instructions. 

1 Turn off the Wireless Speaker. Tap the mic setting icon (Power) button on the SmartThings App.

Alternatively, you can press and hold both the mic setting icon (Multi Function) button and the mic setting icon (Mic On/Off) button simultaneously on the Wireless Speaker for 5 seconds.

2 Press the mic setting icon (Multi Function) button on the unit for 5 seconds.

3 Each time you press the mic setting icon (Multi Function) button for 5 seconds, the mode switches in the following order: “OFF-TV REMOTE” (Default mode), “SAMSUNG-TV REMOTE”, “ALL-TV REMOTE”. Select the mode that suits your remote.

4 With the mode selected, your remote control will be connected. Adjust the volume to your liking.

Note: 

  • This function can be used with infrared (IR) remote controls only. Bluetooth remote controls (remote controls that require pairing) are not supported.
  • Set the TV speaker to External Speaker to use this function.
  • Manufacturers supporting this function: Samsung, VIZIO, LG, Sony, Sharp, PHILIPS, PANASONIC, TOSHIBA, Hisense, RCA.
