Reduce Energy Consumption of your Smart TV

Have you ever looked at how you can save on electricity in your household without having to turn off every single light? With Samsung TVs there are certain options you can adjust your TV settings to help with the energy consumption of your TV. 

Below is a guide on how to access your power and energy saving settings, which settings you can choose from and what they do.

1 Navigate to Settings and then All Settings
Select Settings and then all settings
2 Head to General & Privacy
Select General and Privacy adn then Factory data reset
3 Choose Power and Energy Saving

4 Here you can view the Power and Energy Saving settings available on your TV

The settings may include:

1 Energy Saving Solution – Reduce power consumption by adjusting brightness settings. This function is not available when Adaptive Picture is turned on.
2 Brightness Optimisation – Automatically adjust the picture brightness based on the ambient light level. This function is not available when the Adaptive Picture function is turned on.
3 Minimum Brightness – When Brightness Optimisation is turned on, you can manually adjust the minimum brightness of the TV screen. This function only works if its value is lower than the value set in the Picture menu’s Brightness setting. This function is not available when the Adaptive Picture function is turned on.
4 Motion Lighting – Motion Lighting adjusts the brightness in response to on-screen movements to reduce power consumption. This function is not available when the Adaptive Picture or Game Mode function is turned on.
5 Screen Saver – Activate a screensaver when your TV displays a still image for two hours or more. This function may not be supported depending on the model.
6 Auto Power Saving – When the TV is connected to Wi-Fi, this feature checks Wi-Fi signals and remote control usage data to determine whether the TV is used. If the TV is left idle, the feature automatically switches off the screen. This function may not be supported depending on the TV model or Wi-Fi router.
7 Auto Power Off – Automatically turns off the TV to reduce unnecessary power consumption if the TV controller and the remote control are not used for the set period of time.
8 Sleep Timer – Automatically shut off the TV after a pre-set period of time. You can set the sleep timer for up to 180 minutes. This function may not be supported in some viewing modes.
9 Off Timer – Shut off the TV automatically at a specific time. To use this function, first set the Time (Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Time) This function may not be supported in some viewing modes.

9 Remote Grip Sensor – Alerts users so that they can hold the remote control correctly if the remote-control grip sensor senses any incorrect orientation of the remote control. When turned off, the alert turns off. This function may not be supported depending on the TV model.
