With selected Samsung microwaves, there is a Steam Clean* function that you can use to make cleaning the microwave easier. The steam provided by the Steam Clean System will soak the cavity surface, making it easier to clean the oven cavity.

Follow the steps below for using Steam Clean on your Samsung microwave.

Note:

  • *Steam Clean is available on microwave models MS32J5133BG/SA, MS32J5133BT/SA, MS40J5133BT/SA, MS40J5133BG/SA, and MS32J5133BM/SA.
  • Included in your microwave purchase, you will recieve a clean water bowl that is used in the steps below.
  • Use this function only after the oven has completely cooled (room temperature).
  • Use normal water only, no distilled water.
1 Prepare the water bowl by filling it to the water following guide line (water level) outside the water bowl (the line is about 50 ml).

Note: Ensure that there is no more than 50ml of water. More than 50ml of water may cause a leak at the back.

2 Insert water bowl into upper water bowl holder on the right wall of cooking chamber. After that, close the door.

Note: The water bowl can only be used during “Steam Clean” mode. When cooking non-liquid items, remove water bowl as it will damage the microwave and can cause fire.

3 Press the Steam Clean button, and then press the START button. It can be misty during the steam cleaning process - this is normal, as the steam will shield the light inside.
